My husband and I saw an eagle today. We were awestruck. We're across from Veazey's, it flew straight at our deck . We just happened to be sitting there. I can not express my joy!

Had the fortune to be fishing in a cove that an Eagle was patrolling about 30 feet overhead. Mesmerized just watching. Treasured moments. Thanks for bringing back that memory.

War eagles can be seen circling carrion and eating roadkill. They are also truly bald.

I usually see one bout every time I go to the lake. Makes you feel good. If you can watch one when it's perched on a limb, all I can think of is "majestic". Great to be an American!

We were out on the water Sunday afternoon on the back side of Chimney Rock near the "bridge to nowhere." My wife looked up and saw a bald eagle carrying something in its claws like a fish or rodent. This was our first sighting of an eagle at Lake Martin and we were thrilled. The eagle was heading toward the nest on the island just south of that point. We have seen the nest several times, but had not seen the eagles until Sunday.

Earlier in the day, we watched two brilliantly colored bluebirds in our front yard at the lake. And, Sunday evening, we saw our neighborhood Blue Heron resting on the dock next door. All this reminds of how great it is to be able to spend some time at Lake Martin.
