Was reading Lake Magazines current issue and they have an article on a new subdivision down around Red Hill called WaterOak.

Water access on 43 acres with 51 lots per the article.

$275k to $400k

If anyone is interested click the below link to read the article.

The developers website is www.wateroaklakemartin.com

Looks like they have maybe 200 feet of waterfront for all 50 houses.

Amenities listed on the website shows 300'(+/-) boardwalk. Also lists a helicopter pad...I always wondered why we didn't have one of those here in Sandy Creek.

with this picture. You're going to helicopter in to your $275K, 1,300 sq ft cabin in a $2.5M helicopter---nah, no way..

Somebody sent me an email on my above post regarding this new development on Lake Martin and obviously they misconstrued my point.

So I would like to clarify my point of the above post and the point is -- here comes another development with 51 houses and 300' of waterfront. The links, etc were provided so folks could easily go see for themselves and not have to search to find out was I was talking about. It was in now from or fashion an advertisement for the development.

That is, trying to ensure we all are kept fully informed of any and all developments which are in the process of being developed on Lake Martin or toerh matters effecitn the lake -- be it good or bad for the lake. As this forum is a great place for all of us to gain information and keep each other informed on what is going on around the lake.

And as I continue to read or hear about future developments or other matters on Lake Martin I will be providing links to such for all to read if such is available on the web through a link.

So hopefully this clarifies my above post.

The article in post #1 references "backs of sloughs" as if those are bad places. I find them to be some of the best, quiet places on the lake...and less wake to boot.

I think the idea is you might need one to come get you if you have a heart attack......

Yeah, but they are willing to trade "back of the slough" on the water for can't see the water and have to drive or take a golf cart to the water just to get to your boat? I find that ironic.

Here is ironic...I have 2 side by side lots on 1/3 acre each on a beautiful private cove with 120 feet of shoreline, each lot, and will be happy to build to suit a smaller cabin. The whole deal could cost as little as $380 and you wont have to deal with 50 other people. Takers this winter...NONE. Why would you buy on the lake like this? I guess if you like neighbors in paradise its a good reason but look around,, the deals on real lake cabins and homes are there if you think outside the box....PS.
