Is anyone else astounded at the number of people who have been arrested for child porn.  Where do these creeps come from?  I can think of hardly anything more appalling than child porn -those dealing in the sale, those making child porn, those viewing child porn.  

A friend was telling me of an incident in her (former) family that had a mother using her own daughter making child porn.  Do any one of these sick puppies ever think about the lasting effects their actions will have on their victims?  It just makes me sick to think about it.  To me, there is no punishment severe enough for these people.

Are we homo sapiens a civilized species as we would like to believe?  Or are we just animals of the jungle with an advanced intellect and ability to reason?  I think what we are witnessing in the US is a manifestation of that observation...that the good is overwhelmed by the bad.  It saddens me to see the things happening in the US and around the world, not just with child pornography, but mass killing, kidnapping, human bondage, incessant wars, and the atrocities that go with them.  Our attempts at a civilized order are attacked from all sides.

Sorry, you just hit a raw nerve.  It just seems that caring, civilized behavior is something that is eluding our grasp.

Now this comment is really gonna p….. off some folks, but stop and think about our original Constitution.  1. How old to vote? A: 21   2.  Who could vote?  Intelligent men who could read.   3.  What race could vote?  Caucasian

It really is discouraging.  I'm not a particularly religious person, but when I see what is going on in the world, the only explanation I can come up with is that Satan has unleased evil.  There is a deep sickness in our global society and it's not COVID.

Hound, you are 100% correct.  Most of us understand that fallen man is inherently prone to sin.  Satan is indeed behind this and unless we as a country turn back to God we are doomed for much worse.  I am reminded of the prayer to St. Michael the Archangel.  

St, Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle.  Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil.  Defeat him we humbly pray and cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.

We say this prayer at the end of every mass in our parish.  I say it when I encounter evil people.
