Well you budweiser bubbas can skip this one and save your eyesight. I was taken to The Yellow Hammer for Fathers Day and left hungry. I probably need to lose a few pounds anyway. It was an edgikashun for this old country boy. The wine was good and the food tasty except for " watercrest? ". What is that stuff. Take a cheeseburger to eat on the way home because you are definitly gonna need it when you leave. Barbarian that I am. I had my very own bottle of wine by the way, didn't have to share.

You are too funny. You know some restaurants get art confused with food. I'll bet it was pretty though. LOLLOLOL

I looked at their website a few weeks ago & it looked a little fancy for my tastes.....also expensive!!!
I'll stick to Niffer's and Oskars....although I want to try Poplar Dog's (??) on a weekend night.

Cecil's is not bad either and reasonable. MIght check out the Home Plate in Deadville. Don't know about dinner but lunch was pretty darn good for $5. I'd say Sinclairs is the upscale champ right now.

I haven't tried the yellow hammer yet. Sounds like I'll keep it way back in mind.

Just curious what you all think of The Cove restaraunt?

I like there food a lot. We had the prime rib last time and it was fabulous, the crab claws are wonderful too. The only thingis never go there if you are in a hurry. It always takes forever to get your food.

I have eaten there once and will probably not go back. The chicken i had was good, but i ordered fries with it and got freakin Potato Logs. Heck, they serve potato logs at most gas stations. I was in a supposedly fancy resaturaunt and was served Potato Logs. IMO, i had rather eat at oskars.

Ate at Niffers last week and the food and service were great. Our server Stacey was pleasant and efficient. The food for 4 of us came hot and exactly as ordered.

We generally eat out at the lake since it is just my wife and I. Our 2 cents worth:
Niffers eat there more than others food good for price service usually good fun atmosphere.
Cove food better than Niffers but they have increased prices since last year and service is not as good but comes closest to having atmosphere.
Oskars everything fried and too crowded. It seems like you have someone standing over you waiting on your table.
Poplar Dawg weekend specials good and priced very reasonable. Service fair but you have to sort of wait on yourself (drinks). No atmosphere but everyone friendly.
Judy's quit going there about 4 or 5 years ago and haven't missed it.
Just our take

They have added a Mexican Night on Thursdays. If you have high speed cable or DSL, give it a try. You can see their entire menu. If you have dail-up, it will take a long time.
