Pier,
If they come back with a reading of 98.6 you better ask where they were checking the temperature. I'm pretty sure that the lake isn't that warm yet.

Pier, I was out on the lake this past weekend around the Stilwaters area and my indicator said 69.

Sounds like he took it up stream from his discharge!
|
My pool is a lot colder than that......you must have been in shallow sunny spot!

I think you meant to say downstream from the discharge.

Pier,
If you are referring to the picture at the bottom of the page with the Jet Ski Guy and the Marine Patrol . . . No this is not me. I wouldn't own a purple, pink and green set ski.
Although I think I understand why this looks familiar to you. I remember leaving your boat last summer the day the teen ager died jumping off the rock and immediately getting flagged down by the Marine Police. They wanted to interview the kids on my waverunner on the local news about the death and the picture you linked looks alot like that day.
If you remember from the ride I gave you last summer, my waverunners are black and white (just like the opinions of the folks on this forum).
I guess I'll have to find you again at the rock this spring and give you a refresher course on what my waverunners look like, but it will cost you a cold one (as you can tell I'm just trying to line up my free beverages for the summer).
Looking forward to seeing you and the wife and kids soon! I only need another foot or so of water and I'll be able to launch.

I was thinking if he took the temp reading down stream of his discharge it would have been warmer than 69..........!

Rude, As I stated in my previous post, I was in the area around stillwaters. If you don't believe the temp you can go there and check it out for yourself. What were you expecting 32 degrees? By the way your screen name fits.

Whoa podner, calm down..... no offense intended..... just a poorly worded riff off of Pikeski's comment about 98.6 reading............btw, you were in my neighborhood in the stillwaters area..........just around the corner from where the power line crosses over Blue Creek in the bend.

Shirt, Rude Evin is a fine fellow, I've known him for years and if he says the temp is not 69 degrees ... then it is not. Go back and check your equipment, retake the temp and give us a correct report next time.

Ok, all of you step back... I now understand what has happened. Rude Even was talking about a back-door temp reading (making fun of the 98.6 reading). It sounded like he was questioning the 69 reading, which we now know is not true... I also thought that he was questioning the 69 reading... I like the idea of a 69 degree dive. Probably no more than 4 feet or so until it gets back to the 52... Perhaps i will report water temp at differing depths from my next dive. You may be in for a shocker... brrrr
