Two examples:    D Trump stated that the head of the Boy Scouts called him to say that his speech to the Scouting Jamboree was “the greatest speech ever” and to thank him.

The next day, Boy Scouts USA felt compelled to issue a statement saying this conversation never happened, and these compliments were fiction.

In recent days, D Trump also stated that the President of Mexico called him to praise US efforts to close the Mexican border, saying this had been a great help to Mexico in securing their southern border to Central American immigrants.

But then the Mexican President issued a statement denying that he had spoken to Trump since the G20 Summit, and especially did not compliment US immigration policies toward his country.

Here is the problem.   Trump’s mental state is such that he believes what he says is true, simply because he wants it to be so.   He has lost so much respect for the concepts of truthfulness & honesty that he routinely makes fictional statements that other people have told him he is admirable and exceptional in every way.   It’s complicated, but his personality disorder is such that he can sincerely make statements that are contradicted by facts, holding out & arguing for the correctness of what he has said… then sometimes following up with additional statements that are contradictory… but without acknowledging the overall pattern of fabrication & exaggeration.    For Trump, the concept of Truth is not a constant & concrete thing… in his mind, it varies with his wishes & mood.   Oddly, this is the same kind of political behavior that Trumpism hates in other political figures.

All this continues to point to the idea that Trump isn’t stable, nor does he have the required rationality needed in a President.

Can you point to an actual statement by the scouts indicating that it never happened or are you refering to the "boy scouts told time magazine that officials are unaware of that phone call."  there is a big difference between you it never happened and some are unaware. Someone may have called, as I would have expected with Scouts who usually do the right thing would have thanked someone for their time.  Only two people know if the call took place  Trump and whoever may have called - who may now be covering his own butt because of the liberal backlash.

Can you honestly state the name of a president/senator/congressman who has not lied about something in the last 50 years ?

Stephenson has been a senior Boy Scout official through several of its recent controversies, including decisions to admit gay and transgender youths as scouts and to accept openly gay adults as unit leaders. He said he wasn't surprised by the negative reactions to Trump's speech.

"We anticipated there might be some people upset," he said.

At one point, the crowd erupted into chants of “We love Trump!” and booed Mr. Obama.

I keep coming back to what I posted in February 2016 (or there abouts).  That Trump was the lesser compromise.  He is a trip but how's it going.  And I am not sure about that home run

If we all agree that it will be the "lesser of two evils" then, by definition, values would have to be compromised.  If the candidate follows my thinking down the line then he/she would not be an evil.  But that is not the case.  I agree with Hound that Trump is a better option than Cruz, and I almost agree with her on Rubio.  The kid seems unprepared and we have been dealing with unprepared, that led into "Hey, I can screw this county up, and, They really need to like Muslims more".  It is really a matter of the "lesser compromise".

I think Trump will protect 2nd Amendment. with supreme court appointment

I think he will not fight for an end to little human murder. exactly, except the SC appt will help

I think he will go as far as he can with an immigration plan.  (He has run into many, many deals where he bombasts his plan and then has to modify along the way.  But you have to start from a position of strength and work down.  Again unlike current). Hold my beer, and watch

I think he will know who to deal with in an attempt at economic reform.  He knows laws that affect business, trade, taxes and tarriffs.  He knows who and what is laundried off shore.  He knows how and who is avoiding taxes.  He might cut some loopholes.  He will know more about economic policies than anyone we have had in the past.  bogged down with healthcare, which was a disaster to pass, and will be a nightmare, either to cancel or fix.  my suggestion is to fund it completely and include unborn infants as enrollees.

I think he is not weak, and will not be offended or afraid to surround himself with capable, competent folks.  He has connections, foreign and domestic.  he has had to work on this.  Flynn was disaster, but now have better.  Priebus was disaster but now have better.

I am not sure what he will do with the tax code.  Hold my beer

I think he would not let the likes of Lois Lerner, Eric Holder, Hillary Clinton, Daniel Werfel, and others go unprosecuted.  There may not be sufficient evidence but he would use his resources to check.  this is about to get interesting!!

I think he would make the GOP establishment go crazy because he would gather leaders of both parties together and say "OK, here's the problem. Divide into two bipartisan groups and each group come up with a solution.  We come back in one weak and one group is fired"  he has made some folks go crazy, that is for sure.

Let's try this scenario: You own a small grocery store. Out of the corner of your eye, you see a kid that's new in your shop (let's call him Joe) shop-lifting a $7.00 item. You restrain him and call his father. His father comes in and immediately says, 'Mary from down the street shop-lifted a $10.00 item yesterday. And Frank next door has figured a way to jimmy your back window and hangs out in your store on Sundays when you're closed. And the delivery truck driver who delivers the bread has cheated you a loaf of bread each delivery. And if YOU kept the $7.00 item in a case, my Joe would not have taken it."

As shop owner, I want to deal with the issue of Joe (and think his father should also). Perhaps I'm aware of Mary and Frank and the delivery truck driver or maybe Joe's father is unaware that maybe Mary didn't shop-lift (I gave her the item) or Frank has permission to be in the store on Sundays.

The above isn't a great analogy, but so many of you, when asked to play the role of 'Joe's father', constantly bring up Mary, Frank, and the driver and how it might be the fault of the shop-keeper. Actually, you've been bringing all you don't like about Obama up for about 10 years now and Hillary for at least 4. Believe me, we all know how you feel about them. But you haven't had years to voice opinion on the actions of Trump, so why not do it now? I find it interesting all the constant deflection and the personal aggression toward the other posters (which is also a deviation from the topics). Let's try this scenario:

You own a small grocery store. Out of the corner of your eye, you see a kid that's new in your shop (let's call him Obama).  He comes by and takes  1/6 of all your merchandise.  You restrain him and call the cops.  The cops show up and he claims the store is actually his and he caught you sneaking in a window.  The cops arrest you for being racist and call you deplorable, his friends show up and loot the burn the store.  You are now homeless and he comes by and tells you to have Hope because things will Change, you look at him with adoration in your eyes and a tingle up your leg and fall to the ground and say that he is nothing but the "truth".

You work hard to get ahead and another person comes in lets call her Hillary.  She lies and cheats to get on the city council in a rigged election.  Then when some trouble starts in your neighborhood she indicates its all your fault,  has a mob gather outside your store rioting due to the fact that you are a racist over a video on the internet that shows you arguing that Obama lied to the cops, had you tossed out of your own store and has you arrested.  You call the cops, but they just say Hey - thats your "Matter" because you need to check your white privilage.

You get out of jail, move to a new town and start over, you start up a new business and someone walks in and says - damn you were screwed for 8 years lets take care of the corruption that put you here.  You call the cops to try have him arrested because you are scared of changing the way things are and fear of the kid who made you homeless and the liar who put you in jail will come by for a visit to either re-educate you or you might accidently shoot yourself with two different guns in the back of the head twice.

But what do I know we are all just looking for the "truth" - you say Obama and Hillary are now out of office and dont matter anymore. But I disagree, We can see that under the Obama DOJ nothing was ever investigated because they were too busy spinning it as a matter.  Real violations of law took place, but to you that does not matter because that is the past, its just history, how we got to this point is 100% moot to you.  To be able to live in such a place that nothing past matters, it must be a lovely place since it is only reserved for people who you claim it to be for.  You want to pry open every Trump tax return for the last 100 years so you can can find the evidence of a crime you know he had to have committed, but why should his returns matter?  Thats all in the past, it does not count by each and every one of you dumbasses who are now claiming that Obama and Hillary are no longer in office and off limits.  Obama blamed everything bad he could  on bush and the rest he silenced with Executive privilage and obstruction - by your very definitions his refusal to answer is in itself evidence that he is guilty of everything he was ever accused of. 

If that is actually your position - You are a dumbass - people who do not learn from history are bound to repeat it.  You are as dishonest in your defense of the previous adminstration as you are in the prosectution of this one.  You attempt to say it does not matter because that is the past is BS and you know it.  

I never said I was here to defend the president or any R and do not intend to.  I am pointing out that your political god who set the tingles up your leg set the bar so low while you cheered that your outrage over everything Trump and the coup that is currently underway because you did not get your way is going to be the end of this country.  

The 2nd war between the states is not going to be pretty and you are cheering as our country burns.

The fact remains Trump IS a liar and is the President. So, logically, the President is a liar. You haven't proved that he is NOT a liar.....just calling me a dumbass or telling me to go GFY shows you have no defense.

Now, since you completed your important government job for the day, why don't you DEFEND the President against this dumbass calling him a LIAR?

As I have said before, if Clinton is guilty of a crime...send her to prison. That doesn't change that Trump lies.

It matters not to you that much of what we see happening today is a "result" of the eight years with Obama and four years with Hillary in office. You expect law abiding citizens to overlook the results of their time in office and dismiss the facts that they are "guilty" of crimes that you, I, and every law abiding citizen would be in prison for. You still choose to "ignore" the fact that no one during Obama's reign as President was ever "indicted" and tried for "crimes" they committed and walk "free" today is because he totally controlled the DOJ. Even a "simpleton" woulld agree that AG Loretta Lynch's calling Hillary's questioning by FBI Director Comey a "matter" allowed him to decide that she was not quilty of any wrongdoing(a descision that was not his to make).                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        I fail to understand why you and all Democrats fail to acknowledge that Donald Trump is the duly elected President of the United States and will not agree that "Swamp" has taken control of our government.  I have asked time and time again for you and any other liberals to list any of his "campaign" promises which do not "resonate" positively with the desires of the American people. The "temperament" of Congress over the years has grown away from "What can I do for my Country to What can my Country do for Me"? Is there anyone who doesn't agree that the "Swamp" has started to overflow?

I have answered your questions and you keep asking them. I have said if any Clinton or anyone else is quilty of a crime send to prison. What more do you want. If Wasserman is quilty send her to prison.

I have answered your questions on Trump. I answered most of it  just after he became President. Give us  beautiful and tremendous medical insurance. Increase jobs by 25 million. Reduce my taxes. Increase the military. Reduce the debt. Put qualified people in your administration. Get Mexico to pay for a wall or don't build it. Rebuild relations with Russia. Get China to help solve N Korea problem. Review the Iran agreement. Clean the swamp. Bring back jobs from Mexico.

I am waiting for him to deliver. He has added to the swamp with Goldman Sachs employees moving to his administration. He decided that health care is complicated. He tried to make a secret deal with Mexico....let's not talk about it. He signed off on Iran agreement that they are adhering to it the terms. Has replaced top memebers of staff. You know the rest.

Looks like The Art of The deal in based on lies. His theory when was running was promise anything to get elected. Now, with his feet to the fire he needs to deliver.

My bad. I do recall that a good while back you did respond that you agreed with many of President Trumps campaign promises. However, it's pretty difficult to follow through when there is no "support" from the fifty Democratic senators, the opposition of the news media, and the daily "leaks" of the Deep State, plus all the negative efforts put forth by Obama and his "gang" during the campaign for the Presidency. It does look like there is some progress being made to "investigate" many of the concerns that were alleged during the presidential campaign. It looks like some interesting "facts" may surface during the next few weeks. I,too, plan to see if any new revelations surface during the next few weeks that will better define what to expect in the near future. This has been a long thread and let's hope that something positive happens soon that will be in the best interest of the American people and the wellbeing of our Country.
