As everyone knows there was a tragc accident where a 14 year old kid fell to his death off of some kind of ride from up high.

Who do you think is speaking for the family?  Benjamin Crump, the self styled civil rights lawyer, who has pushed his way onto every case involving a black person -mostly harmed by the poiice.  So I ask myself, why would a civil rights lawyer get involved in a tragic accident?

Before I even knew the race of the kid, I knew as soon as Crump showed up.  Guess he is going for another big settlement, but I can't figure out how civil rights plays into this.

Anyone see a connection?

I have read that the seat belt was not fastened correctly AND the kid exceeded weight limit.  $$$$ for negligence!

I call it "Winning the Lottery".  Don't know if you ever saw the movie Office Space but there was one guy that worked there that was pretty much a loser.  Then he was involved in some terrible accident and he was so happy because he thought he could finally quit his job and live off the settlement. He even had a party to celebrate his accident.  It was pretty funny and like all good comedy had an element of truth.

Guess the ride needed the “fat folks” seat belt extensions like airlines use for 400 lb. 14 yr olds.  But, of course, if ride had just told the kid, “you’re too fat, you can’t ride”…..that would have been RACIST!

One could use a more descriptive (and most likely true) phrase:  morbidly obese

The kid was not allowed to get  on 2 other rides. The the ride attendants allowed him to get on against the company rules.

"The Orlando FreeFall ride's operation manual details the safety measures that need to be in place for the ride to be operated. It also highlights the reasons individuals could be denied access to the ride.

There is no minimum weight except physical size, which may prevent the guest from properly being secured by the seat and restraint. The maximum passenger weight is 130kg (287 lbs)," the manual states, regarding patron restrictions for weight."

This is an example of negligance and the family has an attorney. Yes, it is about money...no different than Trump suing for money. A family lost their black son. Is this any different from a white family losing their son? Crump is an attorney and they have the right to hire him. Yes, Crump is well kown for representing Blacks. Why is it even an issue? If the kid were white, I can't imagine anyone questioning who the attorey was handling the lawsuit.

Is there racism on this Forum?

That's why Crump is there. To make sure this tragic accident becomes a race issue.

Yes, I’m sure most have read what you posted.  Are you so sick and dumb that you can’t post anything without saying something very stupid about Trump.  BTW, the kid’s photo has been on news everywhere….rather obvious that he is black…..and it is very obvious that his family hired a racist lawyer….so….your stupid point is????

No, it was the heavy set guy with the mustache and glasses who would get really frustrated.  The guy with the stapler was hilarious.

It is funny after reading your posts for 5 or so years regarding Russia that you still want to go down that road.  Mueller time, gonna get him now, walls closing in, collusion etc - all we have found out is that Hillary and the DNC were the ones working with Russians to lie about DJT.  Did you see where the DNC and Hillary were fined by the FEC for trying to launder the payments illegally through their lawyers?  Probably not since you only get the DNC news.

Funny how you see it as evidence that Trump is a Russian asset that Putin waited till Trump was out of office and that Potato Joe and the HO was running things to invade Ukraine.  While the rest of the world sees it for what it is - a weak leader who has to have his statements walked back within minutes of him speaking and the cleanup crew ready to tell us that what he said on live TV  is not what he said and not what he intended to say, while he is still saying that he did.

You claimed Trump would start WWIII, and it appears as usual you have the facts at best muddled.  If this keeps up, it will be WWIII, just it will be on Potato and the HO and if we go by liberal progressive logic - you voted for it, so the blood is on your hands.

I was trying to figure out if there was a civil rights angle to them hiring Crump, who bills himself as a civil rights lawyer.  I almost wonder if this was a set up.  He tried 2 other rides and was turned away and reporrting back to his parents that they did.  It almost felt like they were looking for negligence on the part of the ride operators.  I'm sure they didn't expect their son to die, but were they looking for a lawsuit?  If he had been turned away from all the rides, would they have sued for discrimination?   I have a feeling that there is more to this than meets the eye, but then things turned tragic.

Yes, regardless of color, most parents would sue.

I'm wondering the same thing.  I'm wondering if this waa a set up that turned tragic.

Generally speaking, if parents found themselves in this situation, it would not be unusual to sue; but why hire a civil rights lawyer on what is basically a personal injury case?  Something fishy.

I agree with your theory.  Interesting thing to me is the operators said that the belt was fastened when they stopped the ride after he fell off.  My guess is he  was too fat to fasten the belt as he should have so he clicked it shut so the security would show he had it on, sat on the belt harness and rode off to his death.  Not sure of the racist lawyer’s involvement, but that could have been a factor, but the death was not in the plan.

This should help you understand that the Crump law firm is more than just a Crump.

I agree the scroll at the top of that website that states "Hired attorney Ben Crump" cleared it right up - as Hound said the family hired Ben Crump, and many know what cases Crump takes.

Looking under the national practice areas - pretty sure its not a birth injury, labor and employment, security, burn/fire, truvada, mesothelioma, talcum powder, wrongful incarceration, motorcycle, medical malpractice or workmans comp case.

That leaves personal injury, wrongful death, and civil rights.

Kid is no longer alive so I am guessing we can remove pesonal injury from the list, leaving just the wrongful death and civil rights.

I still wonder how the seatbelt was buckled after his fall.
