It's always interesting to get the perspectives of non Americans on our crazy politics and customs............here is one you can enjoy with your coffee. This was said to be translated into English from an article appearing in the Czech Republic as published in the Prager Zeitung on 28 April 2011. I'll leave it to the Obama mushroom farmers on this forum to decide if it is a ligit article published, but it speakes to a truth that many Americans currently feel.
"The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting an inexperienced man like him to the Presidency.It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgement to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederancy of fools that made him their prince.
The republic can survive a Barack Obama. It is less likely to survive a multitude of idiots such as those who made him their president"

Well, survived GWB. If we could survive that, we can survive anything.
While I generally agree that it is often enlightening to read the foreign press with regard to how we are perceived, I rather question who (and the persuasion of) who is doing the interpreting. I suspect this came from a conservative right wing blog, but forgive me if you actually speak Czeck and did the interpreting yourself.

While I'm not about to justify my position (maybe you would care to JUSTIFY your post), I find it remarkable that Republican governors are following the herd on contraception. If this were truly a Constitutional issue, wouldn't you think that some Democratic Governors would recognize it and join the herd?
And it appears to me that the majority of the Republican party is following the herd to support Romney -- who they claim doesn't support their values -- just because they think he can beat Obama.
I think there is a lot of herding mentality.

The source was a former Czech communist who bought an Etch A Sketch and is now a Conservative. Makes sense if you think about it rather than take the simplistic approach and deny it with typical right wing rhetoric.
