On my way to the lake. It's funny, I will spend all weekend doing yardwork and painting and I still can't wait. A working weekend at the lake beats a relaxing weekend in Atlanta. Might see some of you folks.

Cannot agree with you more, that a working weekend at the lake is more relaxing than any weekend in the city.

I actually look forward to heading to the lake during the off season to work on varies projects. However, as a Memorial Day weekend I go on strike. This off season major projects have included:

12 x 14 wood deck with rock firepit
4 x 8 outdoor grilling center
Rock steps into lake with benches at top
Pergola over porch swings
Irrigation system and relandscaping entire yard (still in progress)

Would like to hear of others projects, to give me ideas for future relaxing work weekends at the lake.

Next years To Do List right now includes:
- Relining fireplace flue
- Hardwood floors throughout house
- Wood beams in greatroom
- Storage building

I agree also. Working at the lake beats sitting around the house during the weekend.

My 2006 projects (honey-do-list):
Pour concrete pad for hot tub (complete)
Get hot tub (complete)
Building deck around hot tub (complete)
plant bushes
pressure wash decks
build fish cleaning station (almost complete)
stain all new decks
sod some of the yard (this weekend)
put down pine straw (complete)
by a new ski boat (complete) this one was definitely NOT work!
put in gas logs (complete)
put up storm door
put up swing
plant flowers (wife did that)
I am sure more will pile up????
HAVE FUN WHILE I AM AT THE LAKE (ALWAYS)

of course this does not count general maintenance....

My plans are as follows:

Spend numerous hours looking through periodicals and online to find that perfect home on the lake that already has these previous items.

Once found I must then spend countless more hours deciding on the plan of attack for robbing Fort Knox, hacking into some slot machines in Biloxi/Vegas/ and local indian casinos, OR trade my red paper clip up to the house of my choice (Look through this weeks CNN articles).

Wait, I guess I will just show up at the marina and wash, maybe wax the barge. I could probably build a deck box. That is about the best I can get. Maybe I could bring in one of those portable hot tubs. Wonder if the floating dock would support the weight?

Honey, remember that time you built the bench? Don't think that the dock could support any kind of box you would make either.... LOL...:0) Sorry honey, I couldn't resist.
