I have been on this lake a long time. Most of my life. I have seen things that were very pleasing to the eye and some that I would rather erase from my memory. I have never made comments aloud for respect for others but, this time I have to say something. "People" have actually called and complained about the way dockhands were dressing for work at Anchor Bay. Lets stop and think about this for a second. The dockhands there have never worn anything less than shorts and some type of shirt never revealing anything disrespectful to the public eye. These complaints I am sure have come from someone unhappy that their significant other may have viewed the dockhands inappropriately. I say to you, do something about your appearance so that does not occur again or get over it. Maybe if your significant other had something pleasing to look at, the eyes would not wander. The same thing could be said about you. When you wear a bathing suit should we complain to your significant other that we do not like the way you are dressed? I feel that women have the right to dress how they want. Whether it is pleasing to my eye or not that is their right. If you would like to take the "what about the children" approach, I have an answer to that as well. Usually 75% of women on the lake are wearing bikinis. I stress the word bikini, not shorts and a t-shirt. If you do not think the surroundings are appropriate, you should stay out in the middle of the lake or at your pier and hope a neighbor is not wearing a BIKINI.

This ought to be good. I have not noticed anything out of the ordinary. They sure are a big help docking, and helping out with fuel/ice etc. They appreciate the tips also. They seem to be great. Thanks to them and it's great they have a summer job. Happy Lake day.

The name says it all. Should we issue a challenge?

If these folks are wearing what all the other young folks on the lake are wearing, leave them alone. If we start mandating what they wear, it could have a ripple effect. The next thing you know, the Hooters girls will be wearing heavy long plaid skirts and loose turtleneck sweaters, then that restaurant would be no different than any other fast food. If you don't like it, don't go there.

I am friends with them. The more that visit the more tips they get. If I have helped them in a way, good for them.

HA! Funny. I am not being critical of what they wear, I was supporting them. If it is not indecent and they are out helping folks and earning some money. I don't think there should be complaints about what they are wearing. I think you should gas up more than once!!!! Enjoy your weekend.

I agree bug. These kids work hard for their money. They do not make much an hour so tips are what they depend on. I know one of them has to pay her own gas, insurance, car payment etc etc. The other one has a baby and trying to make it on her own working 2 jobs. I do NOT work there anymore so this is comming from a friend's standpoint

Actually, the group that works there is great.

I know a few gentlemen (especially PP) who would be happier if they were in string bikinis (only the legal ones) instead ...heck I am sure their tip would be considerably higher.... (Just Kidding of course... he he he)

I didn't know you could get 200 gallons in a 14 ft fishing boat......LOL...just kidding.

Isn't it time we had solar-powered boats? The tops on many boats such as pontoons, biminis on runabouts, etc. would accommodate a rather large set of collectors. The pollutants going into the lake would be dramatically decreased...would help bring down gas prices (somewhat)...boats would run almost silently....Anybody buying this? O.K., so maybe it will slow the Poker Run...keep you at home on cloudy days......well, then, what about hybrids? Solar/gas? ....o.k. ....maybe I need to switch to decaf!!

Actually, boats are now going to alternate sources of fuel up North. Ethanol is starting to make an apearance but the downsides are heavy. Regular cost of operation increases through your boat's fuel system. As a tech. I am not looking forward to it.
