Met David from APCO and everything went fine.

Just measured the pier and made a drawing of it..

Said i needed to sign a bunch of paperwork to permit the pier.

No Charge!

I have his cell phone if anyone wants to ask a question or has a problem and wants to ask a question about it.

Now if it would just rain for a few weeks then get warmer it would all be good.

What was the purpose ? new pier, checking compliance of an old pier?
Whatever the reason I am glad it went smooth as well. Warm weather is on the horizon, and the water levels being up a bit sure is a welcome sight to all.

What happened was "tammy" apparantly drove by and saw my pier.

My pier is like twice as long and twice the size of my neighbors on both sides and even though it is almost 2 years old it still looks relatively new.

"Tammy" left a official looking doc on my front door saying that because i had a new pier and seawall and no visable permit then I would have to pay $250. She made a case number and really made it sound like she had caught me going behind their back.

David said she should have never left the letter but just got in touch with me to investigate.

We need rain and warm weather........its going to be chilly tomorrow.

very good then, I feel like they want to be as much "good ole boys" as they can, and still enforce the rules. So far they seem to be doing a pretty good job. The worst case situations would be, where people had no clue what to do and just started building something, and had to tear it down. I'm terrible with names , but the guy that spoke at the meeting (at the civic center) made me feel comfortable that he wasn't running a lynch mob type enforcement program, but more informative enforcement program, Any way I think I just said the same thing twice. He does have the rules and regs to enforce just glad he's leading the enforcement , that laid back ,yet do the right thing attitude will work much better with most folks I think. Of course there will be the old hard a$$e$ like the guy at the meeting " I'LL DO WHAT I WANT ON MY LAND", That guy will be difficult to convince if he ever has to be approached about anything.
