Copperline caused a mild curfluffle by jokingly comparing these two. It was correctly pointed out that the background of Dr Carson was very much more respectable that that of Al Sharpton. I will make another correct statement about these two. Very few serious Democrats ever thought that Al Sharpton was qualified or should even be considered presidential material while millions of Republicans are pushing to put Ben Carson in the Oval Office. It is an absolute fact that Dr Carson has a much more respectable past than Al Sharpton, but I will wager that Al Sharpton does not believe the earth is only 6000 years old! The idea of someone, I who has a MD after his name but does not accept scientific fact, could have his finger on the nuclear trigger scares the he// out of me!

In relative terms...yes. I am also pretty sure she accepts scientific fact and wouldn't take the Book of Revelation into consideration when she is making a decision!
She is of course a liar but so is Carson as seen by a couple of stories today about the questioanble herbal drug company he IS IN FACT involved with. So is every other candidate (especially Fiorino) on each side with the possible exception of Bernie Sanders but he has worse problems.

Why do you lie so much? Just because some in Carson's denomination claim that the earth was created 6,000 years ago doesn't mean Carson has that belief. As a matter of fact, and as reported in numerous news media....even your beloved liberal krap, Carson has stated publicly several times that he does not subscribe to the belief that the earth was created 6,000 years ago. Your continued inability to report the truth indicates a deep character flaw.

Dr. Carson has stated publicly on numerous occasions that he does not believe in the theory of evolution saying it is a myth and that he generally subscribes to the Biblical creation story. Dr Carson has even stated that evolution as a theory is unethical and immoral, though he does concede believers in the evolution are not neccessarily immoral or unethical people (thanks for your vote of confidence Doc). He has stated that carbon dating is meaningless and called scientists arrogant for even trying to explain the mysteries of the universe. That seems a strange position for an 21st century MD (wonder if he still bleeds his patients?). I'm pretty sure his prior statements indicates he is not on-board with the big bang "theory". He has said ALL of these things publicly and it is on record (maybe do a little research from time to time before popping off)...if you do not have a problem with it then that is fine, it is not fine to call me a liar for pointing out his statements. Never-the-less, I always love to hear from one who is without sin, so thanks for your comments and support Wiximbecile. I'll put you down as all in for Dr Carson!!
Oh, BTW, any comment on what was actually stated in my 2d post...did Carson lie about his relationship with a controversial herbal supplement outfit who paid a huge penalty for false medical claims??
Oh yeah...flag this one too. Love earning those extra credit points!

OK, I will get you started and you can do the rest on your own...then come back and I will gladly accept your apology
1/ Interview on "Faith and Liberty" talk show, early Sept 2014
2/ Meet the Press, Feb 22, 2015 (You might want to skip this one because in the same interview he say some nice things about Obama)
3/ Ch 13, Baltimore, May 2, 2012
4/ "The View" earlier this year
5/ Numerous quotes cited in several print and online media outlets prior to his address to Emory Univ graduating class in 2012
You can find many other examples of him giving his views in his own voice...give it a try

Interesting. I've checked out a couple of your lame "references" and all I've seen is his faith leads him to confirm that God created all things....with the possible exception of a couple of folks on this forum. Where in the Bible does it say that the earth is 6,000 years old and where has Carson declared such? You have provided no evidence. Question: Do you believe in God?

I provide the evidence you requested that demonstrates with his own words that Carson is a scientist who does not believe in science and rather than acknowledge my reply to your request you go to the usual rightwing stance...belittle and condemn the messanger and change the subject. Truth hurts sometime doesn't it.
Yes, I believe in God and have faith that he has a reason to create folks filled with the narrow attitudes such as yours even though it is beyond my feeble reasoning to comprehend exactly why.

Ok Wixie, you are a stickler for detail and you are correct that I have offered no evidence that Carson ever said the earth was only 6000 years old. I did offer evidence that he believes evolution is a myth, that the theory of evolution is immoral and unethical, that scientists are arrogant for trying to explain the mysteries of the universe, that carbon dating is useless. Now, since I am also a stickler for detail I will point out that l did not specifically post the claim that the good doc ever said the earth is only 6000 years old. I posted that Al Sharpton and Hillery Clinton probably did not think the earth was only 6000 years old.
Now, lets get to the other question which you apparently do not have the guts to answer. Do you believe Dr Carson lied on national TV when he said he had no formal relationship with the herbal supplement co that was fined $7,000,000 for claiming their product cured autism and cancer. A well respected senior advisor to the Carson campaign said on national TV that he (the campaign advisor) had negotiated a contract between the co. and Dr Carson. So what say you Wixie, is your guy something less than the straight arrow you think?

I can't believe you are stupid enough to try to trap me with something so trivial about Dr. Carson, when your beloved Hilda has been suckin' in tens of millions of payola dollars with every donation a quid quo pro for some future required payoff by the beast. Without even considering the Bengazi debacle, Hilda probably has the dirtiest record of any sleaze bag "candidate", in the history of the USA. As I previously stated, Carson is not my choice for president at this time. BUT, I sure have fun making a lying idiot of you. I'm done.....

No answer, change the subject...again. I wasn't asking about the Hilda-beast, I was asking about Ben Carson...why not address my question just this once before moving to the anti Hillary rant? What are you afraid of...losing stature on this forum? LOL!! Sure, Hillary is a slease and I sure wish I had sombody to vote "FOR" as a change, but it is amazing how rightwingers are so filled with hate for Hillary and Obama and all who are not lock step with them, that they are unable to even see the slime rising around most of this years crop of Rethuglicans!
I heard Kasich this morning. If I thought he was not just piling on the "reasonable" BS because he is aware there is no way he can get to the right of the rest of the field, I might be able to vote for him...to bad he has zero chance in a GOP controlled by the T-party and Christian Jihadists.

How do you think Hillary will perform in a real debate, being pressed with real truths? Not a snarky question but a serious one. How can she spin the obvious (to anyone with half a brain) negatives of her awful performance as SoS? And all the lies? Or does it even matter to the LIV?

That's a very good question. At this point, I wonder how any of them, conservatives and liberal, would perform in a real debate, answering questions about exactly what they would do. No one seems to want to answer the actual question that is asked of them, and I don't think Hilary is any different in that regard. It's the old Washington addage that if you don't like the question you are asked, then answer one that you do like.
I watched the latest Benghazi hearings, and I have to say that Hilary did extremely well and the Republicans came off looking mean-spirited and aggressive. Of course, everyone had months to prepare for that outing, and in the end, it was nothing but political showmanship.
Of course, if Hilary is the democratic nominee and whoever is the Republican nominee, there will be debates. I think she is very vulnerable on her relationship with the UAE and monies obtained through her foundation, and in a real debate, I think she would find it very difficult to form a cohesive reply, without it sounding rehearsed and insincere.
One person who I have found impressive in the debates is Carly Fiorina. She seems to be able to think on her feet and answer the questions asked of her cohesively and withing the time limit.
I'm late to this thread, but I do not think there is a comparison between Al Sharpton and Ben Carson. Sharpton is nothing more than civil rights agitator, trying to fashion himself as the successor to MLK and Ben Carson is a well educated, thoughtful man. However, I do believe that Washington would take Ben Carson, chew him up and spit him out in a month. He's a nice man, but I do not find him anywhere near qualified to be President, and some of his statements are downright scary - I think he is a dreamer and not a doer.
