Recently Pres Trump congratulated himself for shaking the hand of every graduate when he spoke at the Air Force Acad graduation on May 30. Fine, but as usual he had to embellish just a bit by pointing out he was the first president to do so saying other presidents shook only 40 or 50 hands then left. During their tenure President George W Bush and Barack Obama attended graduation at all 4 service acad graduations and shook every hand at those events! W even through in a few chest bumps. This man has no problem lying about anything, even things that are easily checked and are on tape. Why do you, his supporters, never call him out on it? Is it petty to lie about your degree of devotion to those who serve vis a vis other presidents? Hell no it is not petty, it is disgraceful!

i didnt vote for T based on his personality or personal life, rather a businessman ( not career politico) who wont take any crap but get things done for the populus which has been neglected on by Congress too long; one thing congress has accomplished--the art of subpoenas & hearings --and about to vote themselves a pay raise ( now thats American )

largely on his business''success'' you were fooled again. Ask any ''real'' New York developer and they will tell you Trump was a joke. He had some early modest success using other people's money and expertise with a huge helping of skulduggery. He used this initial ''success'' to sell his ''name'' to promote other people's projects and products. Oh, I guess so doing could be interpreted as business accumen and success by some, but I'll bet neither Henry Ford, Tom Cousins nor Steve Jobs would agree.
Before 2020 I challenge you to do a little research on Trump's true business history. If you do and still vote for Trump it will be at least for the ''real'' reason. not a cover story.
BTW: Just when and how did Barack and Michelle Obama insult our flag?

You guys have acute TDS! Trump is in your brain 24/7.
I didn’t vote for Trump and didn’t like him or his act, but I will in 2020 (barring some real bad event). I like how the establishment is going nuts over everything Trump. The Swamp is no longer in charge. The economy is doing great, anyone who wants to work will have multiple offers. The stock market is at an all time high.
Finally, I must say, I find the TDS humorous on the forum, in DC, on the networks, everywhere. Well worth the price of admission!
carry on, surely Trump did something during lunch to piss off folks. ??

to speak out against a man I honestly believe is the greatest danger to the country I love since 1861, then I will proudly embrace TDS. I would hope you would do the same if you were of the same opinion. For the future of our union and our democratic republic I truly hope you are right and I am wrong.

That may be your impression but you would be totally wrong. Trump is a very successful real estate developer in NYC - he's hardly a joke - other developers wish they were him.
With regard to all these bankruptsies that you seem to love to bring up - Atlantic City was a speculative investment, not just by Trump, but a lot of casinos. If you have ever been to AC (which I doubt) you would know that there is nothing there beyond the boardwalk and the casinos. And it was quite sucessful for a time - I know, when I lived in NJ, we used to go there. But over a period of time, the investment didn't continue to pay off. And they were fighting off organized crime (known to you as the Mafia. Yes, there really is a Mafia, not just on the Sopranos). So Trump did what most businessmen do when their investment is costing more than they are taking in, and that would be file bankruptsy. You don't seem to realize that bankruptsy is used by a lot of companies to off load debt. If you weren't such small time people, you would know this. You either off load it through sale or you off load it through bankruptsy.
This is one of the reasons why I laugh when Democrats demand to see Trumps tax returns. They will not understand them, they do not understand multinational, multimillion dollar business. Heck, they couldn't even understand the legislation that they passed for Obama care.
Guys you are so far out of your league on this one.

FYI, I lived in Jersey for 20 years. Spent many hours in the casinos. I remember when the first casino Resorts opened in 1978.
I also followed the history of Trump and his casinos. You lack an understanding of his casino history and are spouting nonsense.

That's exactly what I did. Moved from Jersey to the South. Agree...no one retires to Jersey. Actually, I grew up in the NE, moved to Atlanta than Birmingham and back to Atlanta. Then to Jersey and finally back South.

I voted for him because he was a businessman, not a candidate for sainthood or the consummate social worker like the Democrats always want to pretend their candidiates are, whose businesses probably have a bigger, more complex economy than some small countries and I believed he could make good deals, KICK BUTT AND TAKE NAMES, and get our economy up and running. And you know what? He has!

So you think that Trump's were the only casinos that went bankrupt? I too lived in NJ in 1978 and went to the casinos, so I don't know why you would think that makes you an expert. GF, you have no idea what you are talking about. You may have been in NJ in 1978, but I suspect it is many, many years since you have been there. You are the one that has no idea what you are talking about.
You can say whatever you wish about Trump's fiances but the truth of the matter is that he is still very successful and he has his finger on the pulse of the real issues facing this country, and he is doing something about it.

How many have you heard putting him down???? I'd like some names please and not just one or two.
|
Grew up on the Jersey shore and lived there until 1989. You are right, most people don't retire there, because they can't afford to. NJ has a high cost of living and the winters can be challenging when you don't like to shovel snow. Nothing against the South, I've lived here for 11 years, but I would move back to NJ if I needed to. I owned a house there and that doubled in value when i sold it 9 years later. The taxes are high, because the schools are better and there are many more services offered. I'm not saying it is the ideal place to live, but it isn't bad.
NJ has proximity to NYC if cultural activities are your thing, but it is not all Newark and Camden. The central western part of the state around Princeton and Frenchtown is very nice.
