Let me begin by saying this is a true story. It happened in Zurich about 3 years ago. My watch stem had jammed and I had just landed. I was stuck on eastern time and had several meetings for which I needed to be on time. I went to a local shop and found the watchmaker was ill and had left his twin daughters in charge.....oops, wrong forum, sorry.

Well, Eastern time is king because.... as in Nascar it is refered to as "Daytona" time. Maybe the webmaster is a Nacar fan.

Ding Ding Ding Ding... Fulltimer got the answer correct!

There is a timezone deviation for each lake site, but I don't have the forum calculating that yet. For lakes like Eufaula and West Point, it is not crystal clear which time zone to use (Eastern or Central)... :-)

West Point should be Eastern--the Alabama towns along the river mostly use Eastern time.

Don't know about Lake Eufaula--my guess is Central Time, because Eufaula is on Central Time and there are no real towns on the East side of Lake Eufaula.

That's about what I thought... LaGrange, GA claims West Point. I used to live in LaGrange. Thanks

Langdale and Lanett--now Valley, AL have always been on EST I believe.
