my daughter is a critical care med professional--took out student loans wuth national bank because interest ws lower than FED loans; Bank will not even discuss any relief or forgiveness for her loans -actually laughed at me when i posed the question of forgiveness-she has paid $425 a month for 16 years--but SQUAD is demanding Joe forgive FED loans--what about private ? what about those who worked and paid back all the loans they took out--they get a refund ??
now 2023 budget, so they say , has a provision to TAX UNREALIXED gains on investments--so mark to market at year end & pay tax on what you made ON PAPER--but didnt take out--& when you get 72 I guess you still have to pay tax on RMD"s ! folks--we're screwed;
cant wait to see responses here

you knew that was true the day the Democrats too over.
If they have us pay taxes on "unrealized" gains, then how will that be calculated? For example, if I pay taxes on my unrealized gains next year, will I have to pay again the next year, or just tax the difference between one year and the next? We already know that Democrats know nothing about economics or budgets...
I guess they have to get creative to come up with the money for all the billions they have promised.

They would have to have access to all your finances which I'm sure a committee has been set up--And can we write off unrealized losses ???

The proposed tax on unrealized gains is proposed for those of us who are billionaires not those at your income and asset level. You can sleep well tonight while I stay awake discussing in the Billionaire Forum how to move my assets offshore.
As to those wanting school loans written off, that is socialism or Government welfare. No different than Conservatives who applied for PPP loans but never had to repay them. Everyone has their price where Government welfare is acceptable.

Yeah, but since they cannot figure out that a woman is - you really think they can figure out how to count - once they get past 20 ( fingers and toes ) they are going to have major problems ?????

I was waiting on Goofy's goofy response, which disappears after i log on to reply--but GF i am 150% sure you have no idea of my income or aset level. The point is- as Hound pointed out, there is zero way for feds to monitor your UNREALIZED GAINS ( OR LOSSES), unless they get Joey to pass another EXECUTIVE PROCLAMATION which allows them TOTAL access to all your bank, investment accounts and an unlimited search warrant for the monies in your home safe , mattress & Cayman & Swiss Bank acccounts and CRYPTRO wallets; and as i said , i have no doubt a private commission has already been established to make this a law--how else you gonna pay for all thesefree monies and ink for the Treasury printing press ? oh & by the way, 30 yr mortgage rates are now 5%, up from 2.5% in late January. Tack that on to food shortages, Dow down over 3% YTD, fuel costs$$$ -saw a guy put 2 gallons last week in his Lexus & paid cash. But hey remember climate change is the #1 problem facing our nation. Anyone venture to guess how fuel costs are going to impact boat trafffic this summer ??
