Sydney Powell just pleaded quilty and threw Trump under the bus. Have to believe she will provide some damaging testimony against the Big Boss simce her sentence is so light. In 2024, it will be the Old One vs the Old Criminal.
From FOX NEWS
Former Trump attorney Sidney Powell pleaded guilty to six misdemeanor charges in a Fulton County courthouse in Georgia on Thursday.
The six charges of conspiracy to commit intentional interference with performance of election duties carried a recommended sentence of 6 years' probation in total, as well as a $6,000 fine and an additional $2,700 restitution payment to the state. As part of her sentence, she also agreed to provide a written letter of apology to the people of Georgia and give "truthful testimony" at any future hearings and trials relating to other defendants.

When did I say that? She made a sweetheart deal to avoid a Fulton County jury (smart) and having to pay a bunch of money to her attorneys to win on appeal (also smart). What lies she has agreed to tell in order to get that deal remains to be seen.

When prosecutors get lower level perps to plead and exchange testimony in order to get a lighter sentence they ALWAYS plead to the worst offense. In this case that would be the felony RICO charge. Such was not the case here with Powell pleading to lesser charges and getting probation for offenses that didn't even involve Trump. You can't have a witness testifying against Trump for the felony RICO charge when said witness/perp was basically absolved of the charge via the plea deal. Game. Set. Match.
In other words, because I know logic is not a part of your vocabulary, Fat Fani should have gotten Powell to plead to the RICO charge so she could testify that Trump was part of the conspiracy. She didn't do that and you want to know why? Because she knows that even if she gets a conviction with a Fulton County jury, which is close to 100% likely, she knows Trump will appeal and win because expressing your belief is still a 1st Amendment right, even if it is wrong. As an example, Goofy had the right to express his opinion that Trump was in bed with the Russians and colluded to beat Shrillery in 2016. What we now know is that it was Hillary using the Russians to advance a lie and Goofy fell for it. Does he deserve to be included in a RICO conspiracy with the thousands of others that believed this lie? No, he is just stupid, gullible, naive and suffers from TDS.

You keep avoiding the fact that Biden won. What happened to that Mule movie and its conspiracy theories? To Rudy and his lies? To Eastman and his lies about the stolen election? To the Pillowguy who has destroyed his business with his stolen election theories?
I don't recall you disputing their lies. Dude, you continue to defend the indefensible. Too bad, logic is not part of your vocabulary.
As an example, Martini had the right to express his opinion that Trump won the election in 2020. What we now know is that it was Trump using Powell, Rudy, Eastman, and the Pillowguy to advance a lie and Martini fell for it. Does Martini deserve to be included in a RICO conspiracy with the thousands of others that believed this lie? No, he is just stupid, gullible, naive and suffers from BDS.

Goofy, your response is just plain silly. I already pointed out the absurdity of the RICO charge and you double down on it?!?!? Andrew McCarthy had it right. If Fat Fani could make the RICO charge stick she would have forced Powell to plead to that which comes with a 5-year minimum sentence and strengthens her proffer. But she didn't because it is pure BS. And I will restate my prediction that any of them that go to trial will be convicted by a Fulton County jury (i.e., 90% Democrats) and all will have the conviction overturned on appeal when they get an actual jury of their peers.....not 90% Democrats.
As for what I thought about the 2020 election I have been clear from the beginning that there was massive cheating and that cheating likely cost Trump the election. But we'll never know because it was never properly investigated. And nothing has changed my mind about that. But never once did I say Brandon wasn't the President, unlike the left about Bush and Trump. He is President and he is destroying the country, destroying the economy, leading us into WW3 and is a senile old fool.........and all I can say is I'm proud that I didn't vote for him.

I agree with you 100% but I have to correct one thing, appeals don't have juries, just a panel of judges. There is oral argument by lawyers but no new testimony. Oral arguments can be waived by the appellate if they wish.
It is different if you appeal from a city court to district court I believe and it is a lttle different between civil and criminal. I found out this year that Civil cases involving an amount over 50K skips the Court of Appeals and goes directly to the State Supreme Court. I guess they figure at that amount or above that either party that looses is going to go the the SC anyway so it lessens the burden on the courts and the litigants.

I appreciate your concern. I always assumed you were more concerned with building a shed than a line here or there on the forum. With all problems with the Republicans trying to pick which loser will lead them in the House, the war in Gaza, Powell pleading quilty, and Trump on trial...you biggest concern is some line on the Lake Martin forum. Wish that was all I had to think about.
Cheers buddy.

Kenneth Chesebro. Your post about Sidney Powell was factually / legally innacurae. Wanna try on the Chesebro plea? My decision was not to engage but if you wish, give it a try

You need to show respect for old timers. The former, current, and next leader of the free world will be an old timer...
I don't understand your issue with Powell vs Chesebro..can you elaborate? "Your post about Sidney Powell was factually / legally innacurae"....I heard her words to the judge quilty rather than innocent.

So let me make my choice.....the legal analsyis of lawyers like Turley or McCarthy or some anonymous leftist on the Lake Martin Forum.......let me see.....who to believe?!?!? Oh wait, both these guys are brilliant legal minds with tremendous experience and expertise in the law and one is a leftist that believes so much that just isn't so and seems to have a thing for older people.
Yeah, I think I'll go with my guys. You left wing nuts make it so easy....like shooting fish in a barrel.

For those over 60, being unable to follow a series of posts properly sequenced or not maybe a sign of early dementia. It is in the same category as looking at a verification number from a bank on one's phone and then typing it without looking back at the number.
How old are you?

Your decision not to engage was the right one...until you engaged.......here is the quote from the cnnBS article.
Chesebro pleaded guilty to one felony – conspiracy to commit filing false documents. Chesebro was originally charged with seven crimes, including a violation of Georgia’s RICO act, conspiracy to commit forgery and conspiracy to commit impersonating a public officer. Six of the seven felony charges were dropped as part of the deal. However, it is very important for everyone to note that the RICO charge and every other count was dismissed.
I added emphasis to point out that he got exactly what Powell got....no RICO charge. And interestingly in the entire article from a news outlet relentlessly opposed to DJT, there was not one mention of Chesebro interacting with Trump, only his campaign. Time will tell if he testifies that Trump was the mastermind behind the so-called conspiracy.
