Unfortunately he is unlikely to be successful.  His middle of the road approach and practical attitude is where I am.  I like Joe, Amy and Mayor Pete too, but will enthusiastically vote for whoever is selected.  An easy decision in light of the alternative!*

*If a miracle occured and the Repubs came to their senses and nominated William Weld or John Kasich and the Dems go for Brenie, or Lizzy,  I would seriously consider voting for the Republican for the first time since 2004 when I cast the only presidential vote I ever earnestly regretted for G W Bush.  Of coures W looks pretty damn good now!

Remember,  Trump's daddy got him a deferment for his non existant bone spurs. Pete Buttigieg spent eight years in the Naval Reserve and was deployed to Afghanistan as an intelligence officer for seven months. Tulsi Gabbard joined the Hawaii Army National Guard in 2003 and remains a reservist to this day. Gabbard spent one year of her service in Iraq as part of a medical unit.

it is the symbol of our nation that should be respected and revered.  Do you really honestly think Donald Trump respects the flag but Mayor Pete does not.  Get real, Trump has no respect for anything that does not bow down and kiss his feet!  The sadest thing is most people on this forum know that is a fact but are so backed into a corner by their kow-towing to Trump because he has that sacred (R) after his name they are unwilling to admit it!

Both nights, there was a presentation of the colors by a local VFW and both nights someone sang the Star Spangled Banner.  There was one candidate who didn't put his hand over his heart.  I heard later he said he forgot.  But it wasn't like he took a knee or anything.  The second night there were some observers who seemed to come in after the SSB.  I don't know if they were just held back because they arrived late, or if they were making a statement.
