I've had enough. Last night a young lady from California gave an honest answer to a question in the Miss USA pageant. She was asked for her opinion and she gave it. Unfortunately for her it was not the politically correct answer and most likely it cemented her second place standing rather than the crown she might otherwise have won. The hue and cry has been both amazing and disheartening.

The young lady was asked for her opinion. She gave it, but because it didn't suit the homosexual element she has been roundly criticized by the "alternative lifestyle" set. Even the pageant organizers are pi$$ed because her answer didn't fit their concept of what the Miss USA stood for.

I believe she was asked for her opinion. She gave it. What is wrong with this picture? Aren't the same people who ask for us to have an open mind exhibiting a closed mind themselves?

The young lady, much to her credit, today stated that she has no regrets and that is indeed the way she feels. Good on her

You can be guaranteed that I will not watch that pageant next year.

Anyone recall the story of Sodom and Gomorah?

Sad indeed, those of us who are older and more ornery will give you our opinion, solicited or not, and be proud as well. There are those with whom I cannot agree - some even here, but I do not want some candy-coated P.C. (not you pc). If you have an opinion – say it. I thought we still had the remnants of a Bill of Rights left, but I guess the interpretation of that is changing also. Just my opinion though, and if you don't like it - tough feces.

I guess they worry about their sponsors.

I think if you are asked for your opinion, you should give it. But then, you have to be willing to deal with the consequences -- and it sounds like she did, and she was okay with the outcome.

I'm not in favor of hurting anyone's feelings, and frankly, I don't really much care about what two consenting adults do behind closed doors, but I do think that maybe, as a society, we have gone too far in making everything politically acceptable to everyone so that no one ever feels left out. I don't feel that every citizen of the US has to be willing to accept every belief, lifestyle, behavior as okay, just because it would be politically correct to do so. There can be such a thing as being "too enlightened" just as there is such a thing as being "too unaccepting". We're still primarily a Christian, English-speaking nation and the majority of people are uncomfortable with the idea of the gay lifestyle and gay marriage.

I'm so glad others feel the same way I do. Standing up for one's beliefs when they don't follow the popular crowd is now a no-no. Following the 'Party Line" is a big step towards Communism in my mind. We can't criticize Obama without being labeled 'racist' now, a beauty pageant contestant can't stand up for her moral beliefs without being criticized - it's all gone way too far. I'm sick of it. It's time we all stood up and spoke our minds. Perhaps we can take our country back to the way it should be : Free Speech For All.

Why did they ask such a question anyway? What the he** does that have to do with a pageant other than to infuse a political issue into it? Another question, why is the audience a majority of gay men anyway?

This whole sordid episode pretty much exposes the hypocrisy of the gay agenda. They tell us we have to accept their beliefs and yet we have no right to our own. The majority of Americans agree with her and numerous states have passed laws to define marriage as between one man and one woman (that are often thrown out by corrupt, activist judges legislating from the bench).

I agree with Hound that no one cares what someone does in the privacy of their own home but they should not be allowed to change the moral fabric of our society, including redefining what marriage is simply because they want to feel better about their lifestyle choices.
