I did not read this, copy and paste, just a real life observation of reality. As many of yall know, my Son, Steven works for us. His check net amount "Bring Home" is $18.00 LESS per week now. Of course he ask about it, so would I! He is 21 years old, a College Student at AUM and works part time for Cathouse Marine. Many of yall know him, and yep I am proud of him. Do the math, he brings home $72.00 LESS per month with the new tax crap! For cryin' out loud, he is a child. I am not really understanding this. Bottom line, Dee pays him more to compensate, but is that not counterproductive for our small business? Yall explain this please!

Your son is just a little to old for the new world, but we can teach him how to think:
Whether he realizes it or not, ( I'm sure this will be included in school curriculums starting about 2014) he is just "investing" part of what he owes America. Of course, he could also choose to apply for Medicaid and food stamps, and take what he is owed just because he lives here, and no one would think any less of him (would they?)

The IRS issued a new tax table in December 2012. Then, Congress passed and Obama signed the new tax bill the beginning of January. Therefore, a new tax table was issue in January 2013. Assuming his pay has not changed from December 2012, the only change should be his Social Security deduction that will increase from 4.2% back to where it was 2 years ago 6.2%. I suspect the reason his check was $18 less was the wrong table was used. If he earns $100 per week the change should be a reduction of $2.00 for the 2% increase in Social Security.

Translation:
I suspect the problem is you were too stupid to understand which tax table the IRS chose to use (they always use a new set of dice, you know.) So , like most trouble between the taxpayer and the citizen, shut up and pay up. And smile while you're at it.
Hopefully the rest of you freeloaders will recognize the incredible benevolence of your government the past two years and give your money as demanded. You don't really need to bother with tables either - they will find you, as they expect you to screw up, and seem to enjoy righting your wrongs.

Have y'all asked Steven if he voted in the last Presidential election and if so for who? Lots of young college kids did and I suspect many of those recieving pay checks are wishing for a 'mulligan.'

Could it be you are paying Steven a little over $400,000/year and he falls under the new 39.5% bracket? ;-> ...Otherwise I believe GF is right and think he needs to get the accountant or somebody to take another look at his FICA withholdings and the exemptions being claimed. Could even be he was down for too many exemptions in 2012 and will come up short on April 15.

You are correct! His base gross salary is $467,000.00 per year, plus bonus, expenses and a company credit card. Or at least it feels that way. LOL. Kidding of course. I will indeed have Dee Dee check with Accountants and see if it is correct. I hope you are right.

Check everything Goofy and Archiebelle say extremely close. The reason for that is look who they voted for and who they protect at every turn. They both believe, like the dark weasels, and want to get rid of guns rather than enforcing the present gun laws. Making guns illegal is much like making marijuana, heroin, meth, and cocaine illegal. They all accomplish the same thing. I'm not saying Goofy and Archiebelle aren't smart, I'm saying they lack common sense.
