When the law passes in Georgia to permit concealed carry in public places, and some insane, liberal idiot gets up waving and shooting a gun, some law abiding GA citizen just might take him down and save a bunch of lives, even yours.

Would it be OK if it was some CONSERVATIVE idiot waving and shooting a pistol? Why is it no problem with you nuts to put reasonable restrictions on the clearly worded 1st Amendment (no "fire" shout in a theater, no child pornography, no publication of national security secrets, no liable and defamation) but the end of the world to put ANY restriction whatever on the ambiguously worded 2d amendment (background checks, limitation on ammo magazines. restrictions on semi-automatic assault weapons). Oh I know...there are restrictions on guns...why? Let's sell surplus mortars to hunters...is that really anymore dangerous than an assault rifle with a 30 round clip? If it's OK to bring a gun into a theater or church or a airport, if it's OK to sell a gun to someone on the Terrorist Watch List (unbelievable!), how long will it be before the NRA starts a campaign to allow guns on airplanes and gun sales to 12 year olds?

I am at a loss about what criteria you are using to determine what is "dangerous". A 4.2" mortar is no more dangerous than a .22 rifle - either one will sit for their lifetime without causing any harm whatsoever. As far as the hunting limitation - that is a non-starter, the 2nd amendment has NEVER been about the right to hunt.

If the Government said "all guns are banned, we are coming for them, put them on your front porch or we will come inside and get them" - would you be OK with that? All of the prior restrictions and all of the proposed restrictions are moving to the same end, they are just doing it more slowly so that you will not notice it until the knock on the door. It has happened everywhere else it was started and WILL happen here as well. Idiot in Chief #2 is already preparing us for the 3 round magazine ban, why not just go directly there?

I can't imagine why any law abiding citizen with a carry license would do that but whether that extreme example is strictly legal or not I can assure you that if someone did that they would be asked to leave by the theatre management and if they do not they can be arrested for criminal trespass. And if they don't have a carry license it would be illegal to have a gun in a theatre. Since you need to have a carry license in the state of Georgia presumably only law abiding citizens would do so. And as we saw in Colorado, the nut job bypassed two theaters that did not prohibit firearms to go to the one in Aurora which did. So by not allowing law abiding citizens to carry into a theatre you leave the patrons totally unprotected. And we know that criminals could care less if it is illegal or not.....they plan to break the law anyway and bringing a gun into a theatre and waving it around will be the least of your worries and their criminal acts.

Your feigned outrage is just plain silly. I can assure you if I decided to conceal carry into a theater no one except a perp contemplating mayhem has anything at all to worry about my pistol. Take a valium Archie, the good guys aren't a threat and maybe if you are lucky and one of us are there and we will save your life...........then again, maybe not.......

Hey Archie, if by coincidence you and I happen to be in a theater and some nut job stands up and starts firing, please stand up and yell Scottie please protect me. Now, you know perfectly well that you cannot wait on the police and you cannot reason with a nut job so it will fall to me or someone like me to protect you and others in the theater. I will consider your request and based upon my weighing factors like will my actions cause more harm than good, will the nut job drop his weapon and surrender or will Archie still be a nut job if he survives. Based upon those deliberations I may take out the nut job or I may just protect myself and family and you can do what you will. Hope it all works out ok for you.
