Can someone tell me where the nearest deep water public boat launch is to Lincoln? I have not been able to get my boat in the water at the house (Stemley rd / Choccoloco Cr) and can't stand to sit and look at the boat hoping for rain any longer...

Lakeside landing is where I have to use and you can even pay an extra 1$ and their tractor will launch the boat for you.

I will be out that way after the Alabama game to launch and I launched there last week, It was the only launch I could find.

Call me if you want me to give you directions.

Thanks for the help. It looks like it is just south of Pell City on 231. I think I will take a drive down without the boat and look around and maybe get the boat in the water later this evening or tomorrow. So far I have not been further south on the lake than the Stemley Rd ( 34 ) bridge and I need to scout around that part of the lake anyway.. Sounds like a better plan than heading down to Lay Lake which was my plan B for the weekend... Thanks again... See you on the Lake, I have a yellow Tahoe deck boat...

We actually have a house about 3 miles from the dam on the Talldega side and usually put in at Clear Creek or when the water was 3 ft deeper at the old Marina Bay launch.

Once you put in at Lakeside you can go straight out of there and you are headed toward Stemley and if you go right you head towards the Dam.

The Channel both ways is pretty safe. The only part you want to be careful in is when you are leaving Lakeside and headed toward Stemley be careful when the channel goes back right you want to stay wide left there. it is shallow around the markers and within about 50yds or so to the outside of them. I have never been inside so do not know what the depths are.

I am in a Blue Supra Wakeboard boat if we get it out. We have not decided if the boat or the Seadoos are coming out this weekend.

If you go to Lay where do you put in at? A few weekends back we took the Seadoos in just below the Dam and rode for 45 miles or so and it was a pretty cool trip just sight seeing.

Be Carefull!

FYI, drove down to Lakeside Marina and watched several bass boats digging up the bottom getting their boats trailered on Saturday. I guess they didn't want to get their feet wet. LOL We put in at Riverside Marina with no problem and had a great day Sunday. I have never been down to Lay Lake but many of my co-workers live down there and I will get some info and post it...Can anybody recommend a good fishing guide for Logan Martin?

We got on the Seadoos and put in just below the LM dam and rode for 40-45 miles and it was really a pretty fun trip. We would do it again and have even talked about taking the wakeboard boat and using the uninhabited waters to get some butter for boarding.

As far as a fishing guide, can't help you there unless you want to fish from my pier in 3 ft of water.
