Following up on Lamont's post about the Christopher's brunch.
We went there for dinner tonight. They have a rather large menu and a good mix of casual food and entrees. Feb and I both went with entrees.

We started sharing an appetizer of crawfish. It was fabulous. Nicely spicy. And large. Feb also had a salad. It was a good sized salad and beautifully presented. No iceberg here.

Feb went with the Grouper Oscar. I went with the rack of lamb. I love rack of lamb, and this was one of the best I've had in a long, long time. It had a wonderful peppercorn sauce and it was perfectly cooked. Feb said that his Grouper was excellent too.

Neither of us had room for dessert.

The service was nicely paced and attentive without being annoying. It wasn't that busy, and the chef came out and checked in with us. I noticed he did the same with the other party that was there. Very customer oriented.

We are on the Alex City side of the lake, so it was a little drive for us, but well worth it.

I have not had dinner there yet but, thanks to your review, I know what I'll be ordering. I loves me some lamb. How do you think it compares to Springhouse?

Assume you mean the restaurant and not the lamb.

I like the menu better at Christophers, especially if I were taking visitors to eat. I'm a little disappointed with the Spinghouse menu, in that every time I've been, it's essentially the same. I don't have any complaints about the food preparation at Springhouse, although I think the chef could season it up a bit.

The ambiance at Springhouse is nicer, but Christophers has the water view. I've never been offered the opportunity to dine outside at Springhouse, and if the weather is nice, it would be a good option.

BTW, one thing I forgot to mention. I overhead the waiter telling another table that the gumbo at Christophers has won awards and is one some list of 100 best things in Alabama.

I've been to Christopher's twice and Springhouse twice.

From now on it will only be Chrtoispher's.

The gumbo at Christopher's IS very good.

We've been to both restaurants...Christopher's is closer for us, thus we've been there more often. I sense some sort of "air/attitude" issue at Springhouse for some reason.
I think the food offerings are better at Christopher's.

I will say this, in-house dining at Christopher's is a bit better than take-out.
