I am talking about the place around the corner from Peanut Point toward Wind Creek with a sign that says "The Hut" There was an article about it in LAKE last fall.

I just drove by a place located where I described and there is an old cabin with some kind of a 55 gallon drum water system in the back and a sign on the dock that says "The HUt" so if the original hut burned down they now have a new one.

You are right about the Forbus cabin,but i still stand by my statement that it burned down last year,maybe the year before.I heard the the whole episode on the scanner.Our Town And AC fire responded.Maybe they rebuilt it.Jeff Smith had at the time.

I've been going by the hut for about 7 straight years to take the short cut through peanut point. I never saw it burnt down.

As far as I know The Hut never burned. Jeff Smith, who I assume has a long term lease on it, was featured last year or the year before in one of the local magazines.

Solved the mystery of the Hut.Everyone that said the hut did not burn down,is correct. I am partial correct.The call came in as the hut was on fire,and engulfed.The call came from someone across the lake that saw it.I talked to Jimmy Ray of the our town VFD,who was the first on the sean.It was not the Hut on fire,but the generator house behind it.What i heard on the scanner was never changer from the Hut to generator house.Soooo everyone was right,except me,which was partial right.I was beginning to think i had dreamed this,or going nuts,which is not to far to go.
