My understanding is that we have increased our diplomatic presence. Security for those diplomats is being provided by private security concerns. These are the same companies that have been providing security for the diplomatic representatives all along.
We have withdrawn our troops. The military does not provide security for the State Department.

I believe the USMC guards Embassies. At least they do in Rome.
And please don't try to tell a Marine he is not in a miltary service. Not a wise course of action at all.

If you want to split hairs, Marines guard the Embassy as US property, but not the diplomats as they travel around the country. They are not responsible for personnel security.

Why do you think someone is lying? The number of Americans I heard that will be in Iraq after today is 1,000. I did not see a breakdown on what those are, or if they are all governmental personnel.
I wouldn't rule out a CIA presence, and some other intel folks that are walking around under the guise of the diplomatic mission. But the uniformed military personnel have completed their mission, and military left, except those guarding the Embassy.
