I'm relaxing at my panhandle outpost recovering from the Atlanta floods and have been a bit out of touch. How did the market do today? What are Obama's poll numbers at Gallup looking like? Did the first time jobless claims take another big jump last week?

I could not have said it better myself. The really sad part is liberals like Archie think we want bad news as it makes Obama look worse than he is ... not at all.
I still have not gotten a response from Archie or any of the liberals to point to one thing Obama and his administration has done that they are personally proud of and can say it has been good for america. Just one ... and have never gotten a reply.
You would think these liberals would be screaming about Obama ... he says he is closing down GITMO ... still there. He says the Iraq war was wrong and we should withdraw ... still there. He is going to fix these outrageous bonuses .... nope this year bonuses will be $141 billion - highest EVER!
Don't get me wrong, I don't think he should have done any of these so it is the correct decision. It is the only thing I agree with on Obama, his lack of action on items of national security and allowing people to be compensated how the BOD and shareholders approve (not the government) ... but he sold a bill of goods "change you can believe in" but it is just lie after lie.

Thanks for asking ... the market did Ok yesterday, still 4,000 points down from the high under Bush. As for jobs, I have not seen that ANY have been created yet and we are still losing them. Have you seen different numbers? Jobless claims are due in about and hour. Stock futures are down about 50 right now.
Now if you follow business the way I do (and by the way I have given you two stock tips that one of them went up 300% and the other about 250% so you should be thanking me), the wasteful spending, the falling US dollar and a discount rate of zero makes the stock market the only place to invest right now. The SCARY part is when interest rates start to rise, which is coming soon. I do a lot of hedge transactions with banks for my clients. We used to be able to do a 20-30 year hedge, the banks will not go more than 5 years right now, absolute max do to their fear of what they feel could be a huge jump in interest rates and inflation.
That is do to the 170% of revenue Obama is spending, higher taxes, socialist health, VAT tax, cap and trade, government involvement in just about everything.
Hope you are doing well after the floods. My Atlanta home is on the Chattahoochee River, but is set back about 240 feet. It never went over the banks, but we could see the water it was so high.

Archie: I was just getting ready to post that it has been so nice not having you spouting nonsense and you suddenly show up. According to a recent Gallup poll Hillary is more popular than Obama. It is the lowest favorability rating of his Presidency and the trend is down, down, down. Presidential Approval Index at -8. The generic ballot still favors Republicans. On the positive side, his numbers with Democrats are still strong.

The last three months have been the worst period of all time. From CNN: "During that time, 937,840 homes received a foreclosure letter -- whether a default notice, auction notice or bank repossession, the RealtyTrac report said. That means one in every 136 U.S. homes were in foreclosure, which is a 5% increase from the second quarter and a 23% jump over the third quarter of 2008." Really is time to celebrate as only 514,000 lost their jobs versus a forecast of 525,000. Real unemployment is over 16% and even worse for those under 25.
But you still have your house and are enjoying the redneck riviera so let them eat cake!

I'm not hiding. I'm vacationing. I simply have devoted the last couple of weeks to paying more attention to oysters, beer, and G&T than to spending my time reading rants from a bunch of central Alabama right wing nuts. But, alas, my vacation is almost over and I'm starting to ease back into the old grind....BTW just saw a crawl that new unemployment claims just dropped again for the 4th time in 5 weeks. Sorry to have to give you the bad news. It truly is bad news but "less bad" than most weeks in the last year. I can imagine WW and MM going ape at my last comment!

FoxNews poll results that only 43% of likely voters would vote for the Messiah for President. That's down from 52% 6 months ago.
I know, I know, Fox can't be trusted but the NY Times/cBS poll or other government media outlets can.....

I am happy that Obama is finally putting less people out of work. But the fact is he is still putting people out of work. I forgot your projections ... something like 5.5% unemployment in a year ... which was like 3 months ago. Did you know the economy actually has to create jobs for that to happen, not just loss "less".
BTW ... I see you still have not answered what should be a simple question considering your loyalty to our socialist leader. I would love to know your thoughts. Or are you not answering because there is nothing you are proud of or that he has accomplished. Or maybe it is because he has not accomplished anything? Which is it? Your silence tells the story.

What you will hear from the socialist party is ... yes they are bad, but if we did not do this or that they would have been worse. I just can not believe people or the media buy that.
Imagine businesses never being successful or getting results and always saying we did a great job even if you can not see it. What other administration has been given a pass for lack of results. My God the dems were all over Bush that he was not creating enough jobs or the right jobs .... but he was creating jobs.
Now the socialists are in control and can show everyone how to create lots of good quality jobs and what do we get .... EXCUSES.

Foreclosures are only one story. There are many deed in lieu and now they are pushing short sales. Doubt either of those are in the numbers we are seeing.
