Next Tuesday (the 18th) at the Dadeville Recreation Center at 5:00pm there will be a public hearing on a proposed animal control ordinance. Anyone can come and get 3 minutes to voice their opinion. If you are tired of irresponsible pet owners this is your chance to make a difference.

The ordinance should be in today's Dadeville paper "The Record"

Off topic -- but I saw a horse in someones front yard the other day. Felt bad for the horse-- not a blade of grass in sight. Just mud, a trailer and a truck on about a half acre lot. Poor thing.

That would be addressed in the ordinance. Animal cruelty is a section. This is about irresponsible pet owners.

That wasn't mud you saw; it was horse manure.  There were two horses there at one time.

on Old Susanna??? I feel sorry for those horses.  I do believe there is land behind the trailer, I think they put the hay in the front yard because it is easy to unload it there!  They also have a dog (that chases my car).  I never see people there!

if any Dville ordinance would be limited to city limits. Most of the lake homes w Dville addresses are actually outside of the official city limits. Ditto AC, Eclectic, etc, for that matter.

Yes that's the one. I really do hope they have more land but I never see the horse anywhere but in the front or a little pen to the side of the trailer. I do not understand why someone would have a horse like that with no land. It's very disturbing.  I remember there was another horse. I try not to think of what happened to it.
