Hello, When they built the new bridge at the end of Sturdivant Rd, they closed the little boat launch there.  We along with many others now do not have a boat launch to use in that area.  Can anyone tell us if they are planning to put another one in, or if there is one near there that residents in the area can use?  Thanks.

I don't think they want anyone launching any boat worth less than $50,000 in the area, not when the two houses they are listng are between $600,000 and $800,000.  I figure they will begiving away those houses in a couple of years after the train comes through a couple of times at two in the morning.  Especially the engineer who blows the whistle all the way from Jackson's Gap til he crosses the river.

I know of a couple of private launches; next closest is Alex City launch by the bridge.  Good luck.

It's bad for everyone on the little roads coming off Sturdivant, as many of us do not have boat launches.  I have a name for the person at APCO and will reach out to see if they plan on adding another one in the area.  Alex City has no plans to help us out.  They annexed all the homes but not even the road itself, pitiful.  That public launch across the river I guess is the only one.
