My daughter was turning onto McCain Road tonight to get to our lake house and her transmission went out. She is 4 months pregnant and currently in tears because she has 5 friends with her and they are without transportation. They were planning on going to the beach tomorrow but now have to get the car fixed.

Any advice? Its a '98 Ford Explorer with 140k. Any names/numbers of anyone around the lake area that might rebuild it for a fair price would be appreciated.
I'm stuck in Birmingham.

The beach is a free trip. Parents help their kids too much where money is concerned, don'cha think? I just wanted some advice on who might could fix it.

It's funny how people want to perceive things. Her husband is one of the 5 with her, and they have another car at home in Nashville that she usually drives. I didn't think I needed to post a novel on here to explain the problem.

All I needed was some help on a mechanic, and several were nice enough to supply it.
It is appreciated!!!!
