Utter Devastation in Lawrence county in the Mt. Hope community. My wife and I were working with the Lawrence County EM volunteers yesterday and it was heartbreaking to see those who lost everything but hope. Yet, church groups, youth groups, and other volunteers were everywhere helping to restore where possible. I did not hear the first negative comment about Obama is to blame for the tornado's. A true community effort was seen but this is not enough.
Toilets can and will be supplied. Salvation Army people will distribute food. Red Cross volunteers are in the community. But, rain is coming and where will these people go?
So, a couple of questions were asked.
1. What help is needed and where will it come from? This effort is need all over North Alabama, Birmingham, and Tuscaloosa. 2. The amount of help required is massive - short term is now seen but reconstructive efforts are longer term. 2. Where are the FEMA trailers that were used In NO?
