I dropped everything and made a run for it. A friend was collecting scrap steel from a old farm and called me and said Heather,,, You are not going to believe what I just uncovered.....
A 1951 Vanguard! $40! Heather Is A Happy Girl Tonight!

If any of you ever see a fined classic fiberglass boat from the 1950's out in a field or barn please let me know.
I am trying to collect them.
Sadly, most are gone here in the south now.

Looks like my first ski boat -- flat bottom -- put 'er in a tight turn and her back end would fly across the water until she finally bit -- and danm near throw everyone out. Ah, those were the days!!

No,, No,, No,, Gezzz I hope you don't think I am really that freaking crazy.

I did not bring it home on that trailer. LOL

It came to the shop on the flat bed. Pulled it off and I cranked it up onto that old trailer tonight. I had forgot the wheel's lug holes were eaten out till I had it halfway on so I just cranked it on up and will tend to that wheel in the morning. It's just to move it around the boat yard here any way.

That boat will need a Tee-ne trailer with baby moon hub caps, white wall tires and rounded bullet fenders when it's done to be a period correct trailer.

Get this, the last registration on the boat is 1969. and the 8-track still works... Gezzzzzz is that crazy or what?

There is a real cool boat sitting on HY 34 between 280 and 49 near Thornton rd. Its a lot like the one you found. Same color but has real cool fins. Sorta looks like an old Caddy. Glass looks good and maybe they want to sell. Ben there for a long time. If you need any upholstery help please let me know. Things slowing down in my shop after the 15 of Feb.

The same motor yo momma stuck up your rear end to get you out of the swamp and to the school bus every morning.

I love all these old boats you are finding. You are going to have quite a fleet one day. Maybe one day we can have a classic boat show at the big pond to let the world see your work.
