Any recommendations for a source of topsoil.  I need about 5 yds. delivered in Sandy Creek area.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Make sure you mix it in with your dirt or ask your supplier if he has added lime. Took me 2 years and a lot of sulfur to get my garden straightened out. I would try these guys: Haven Place Nursery 370 Haven Place Kellyton, AL 35089-4338 (256) 839-1201

Check with Donnie Mac at Lakeside Marina - he hauls topsoil. He's done gravel work for me before. and did a great job.

Haven Place is Ricky Pope's nursery.

James Carlisle at 256 750-1521. He has both screened and not screened. His truck is smaller and he can deliver what you need. Personally I would go with the screened. It takes all of the work out of it. Good luck

Be very wary of Froggy Bottom in Montgomery...what they sell as "topsoil" is 80% sand mixed with 20% clay...or some other more desirable material.

is a Lake Martin area legend.  Everyone should meet him at one time or another.  I worked for him when I was growing up and we lived in the same neighborhood.  Great guy.  I (like anyone that's known him a while) have crazy stories about him that are all true! :)

No kidding about him and his stories. We tried to hire him last year to do our landscape; unfortunately, he was unable because he had to have heart surgery. But, he referred us to his protege Eric Brown with Hilltop Landscape. He's a character-in-the-making. But Ricky is just amazing. He deserves his legacy.
