Does anyone have any experience or insight into the JetDock drive on boat lift product? I was considering using one for my boat and PWC, and just wanted any experiences you might could share. Thanks.

I have a drive-on pwc dock, don't think the brand name is jet-dock. I got it from the True-Value hardware store in Tallassee. It was priced reasonably and is easy to dock and launch.....once you get a feel for it. The trick is to hold the throttle long enough to get it completely on the dock. Your tendancy will be to telease the throttls too soon. To launch, just stand on the back platform and shift your weight a few times and it will slide right off. I got it to replace a manual crank lift. It was too hard for my wife to get it completely out of the water. Also, I had it mounted on a 2' wide dock and the weight pulled the dock over.

We installed two of the drive on kind that are advertised in the Forum classified. Fairly inexpensive ($900 each) and we installed ourselves. My only mistake is we were not able to find 4" sun resistant PVC pipe locally so we used 3". Provides too much play and I suspect will come back with 4" over top of the smaller diameter pipe and concrete it in as best we can. Otherwise it is easy to use and to get on and off as the post above points out. You can spend a lot more and have them install for you which in hindsight is probably what we should have done.

don't forget to pay the $250 permit fee to Alabama Power.

I need to decide if the product is feasible first, but I have been warned extensively about filing the plan and paying the permit even for a two hour install.

it is a bummer - I have been told they periodically review satellite photos to find violators.

You need 4" schedule 80 PVC. They have it at Sabel Wholesale in Montgomery.

I used the jet dock at the beach and it was ok, but we only used it once.

For the lake, we bought two of the HydraPort PWC ride ons and they are great. The stopper in the front is great because on a rough day my husband almost drove over the port while trying to get on.

Hope that helps!! Also, we used to have a hydrahoist lift for our boat when we were on Smith Lake and as long as you have the water for it to lower, it was the best lift and had come highly recommended.
