I was in Gulf Shores last week and decided to bting my cast net along. I was messing around in the surf with it and my nephew and I managed to catch about 20 mullet with the cast net in the 1 to 2 pound range. I have never eaten mullet. Has anyone eaten them? Are they good? What other fish do they compare too as far as taste.

Great when fresh - catch today eat by tomorrow. Deep fried they are as good as trout or flounder. Don't bother with leftovers. Enjoy. P.S. The next time you are in GS check out the mullet at Mike's in GS or Doc's in Orange Beach; their mullet is great.
