I don't know if anyone else has noticed - but the Walmart is Alexander City is doing nothing to help people physically distance.  Disinfectant at the door but it is strictly up to you to see it and use it.  No tape on the floors to facilitate distancing.  They haven't even provided their registers with cough shields to protect their employees. They do not, nor do they provide the material to clean the belts on the machines between customers.  No hand sanitzer between customers either.  If a big company like Costco can do what they will to protect their employees and help their customers physically distance, then why can't Walmart???

Also - I read a plea from a Walmart employee to ask people not to just go in to meander around because they are tired of being home.  These people are putting Walmart employees and other customers at risk by doing this.  Also please do not touch things that they aren't going to buy.   Please remember that you may not be ill (yet), but you may be spreading virus.  You are also putting yourself at risk from someone who doesn't know that they are sick yet.

I have noticed the same in Montgomery, Wetumpka, and Tallassee.

I was at the Walmart in Wetumpka yesterday and they have no Clorox wipes at the door but I did notice staff was spraying the carts.  I took my own wipes (worth gold right now).  But there are no rules that I could determine but learned weeks ago you are on your own.  If it wasn't so dangerous it was funny.  Momma with six kids was clueless about the risk of them hugging all over her and then drafting out terrorizing other shoppers, some unconcerned as well.  I went out of my way to avoid them reversing my routes the best I could.

so folks should recognize that you have to look out for yourself, it is possible to be careful.  I always do my self checkout and wipe down as you go.  With the data showing obese compromised people at the highest risk, those people are all at Walmart!  Lord help us! Natures way.

Yes and I always wipe with my own wipes - bu then I always do that.  We are on our own to keep ourselves safe.  But after seeing what other stores are doing, I think Walmart is deficient.  I saw grocery stores in NJ that are creating one way in aisles to facilitate physical distancing.  Realize that isn't possbile in Walmart, but they are not being creative and a lot of people, left to their own devices, are clueless.

Funny Carlson, very true, but still worth a laugh

Atlanta Highway Walmart at about 4:00 PM today:  no wipes, only the offer to spray some unknown liquid onto a paper towel. Many people shopping. Ripe for virus spread. Believe I will avoid for the foreseeable future.

Walmart is now limiting the number of customers in the store at any given time, and some stores are going to make one way aisles.  I have been since I read this, so I don't know if this is being done in Alex City. Anyone know?

I am seeking other sources for our needs, even at higher cost and more inconvenience.
