These famous and fabulously wealthy folks do their environmental thing because they say they desire to make a positive contribution to the world and/or mankind. Legacy... it's really all about "me!" Photo op. Publicity.
We are all bound by the laws of physics, chemistry, and thermodynamics. Misguided celebrities do not understand the natural laws that bind them to you and me. They don’t do even simple math or comprehend the scientific method. They cannot participate in rigorous thinking or debate. Thespians can memorize lines and lyrics, so they can handily assimilate and regurgitate canned and catchy phrases (e.g. “Bush lied – people died”, “the polar bear population is dwindling”, “CO2 is a greenhouse gas”, etc.)
Once in a while, the light comes on with one of them… e.g. Angelina Jolie. She is beginning to see the stupidity, arrogance, and greed behind the AGW caper. To be sure, not all actors, musicians, and fashionistas can be painted with this broad brush (recall that President Reagan was an actor). Angelina Jolie concentrates on acts of charity which make a real difference to the needy… and she focuses on projects for which she has a clear understanding. (Hmmmm… can I see those tattoos again?)
The dearth of clean water on this earth is a horrendous condition which kills people, especially children, by the millions. This problem is measurable, repairable, and within the actionable capabilities of the science and engineering professions. Instead, the liberals have chosen to misdirect the fortunes of the earth’s inhabitants on AGW, a nebulous, if not scurrilous, theory. Therein lies the proof of twisted ethics.

What is fascinating about this entire sordid affair is that the government media is ignoring what is one of the biggest scientific scandals of all time. This is part and parcel of why the dinosaur media will soon be extinct. They have simply given up all pretense of objectivity and have become the media arm of the modern Democrat party.
I have long claimed that one day we will look back on Algore and AGW as one of the greatest frauds perpetrated on mankind. He has already made $100M on this lie and apparently has satisfied his bloviated ego, bank account or body as yet. Talk about invincible ignorance!

"I'm going anyway," sayeth our POTUS. The White House is brushing aside the colossal misconduct at East Anglia University (Climate Research Unit). He needs no further information. His mind is made up.
How should I regard the president’s dismissal of highly damning evidence? Does he not consider it worthy of a bit of pause and consideration? He is about to lend his prestige to championing a mandate which quite surely is based on discredited and unworthy science. If the purveyors of control at Copenhagen have their way, Obama will have rendered us party to our own economic demise.
He has the power to say, “I’m not going to Copenhagen. If AGW is found to be worthy after all, then I will reschedule. But, I have the obligation to do what is right for the people of the United States of America and I believe that prudence is the best course of action given information which has recently come to light.”
Nah… he won’t say that.

the truth about global warming is not going to stop him. He knows it is a lie just like anyone else with a IQ thats in the double digits...Its all about money...it will cost the USA a ton of money...but he will scratching his nutcase liberal friends backs....or to put it in plain english...they will make millions on top of millions from the "big lie" ...rule of thumb...governments wastful spending is terrible.....unless you get to stick your hand in the cookie jar...then its ok.

And now, NASA will be sued under the Freedom of Information Act (FOI), for its data (know as the GISS).
“Chris Horner, a senior fellow at the Competitive Enterprise Institute, said NASA has refused for two years to provide information under the Freedom of Information Act that would show how the agency has shaped its climate data and would explain why the agency has repeatedly had to correct its data going as far back as the 1930s.”

Under FOI, NASA had 20 days to respond. They have not. They say that they are trying to get the data together.
I did my geophysical research over twenty years ago (also in FORTRAN code). If you asked for my raw and processed data and code, my University could have the files ready for you to download within a couple of days. If not, I have electronic copies. And, unlike Obama, you can walk into my university’s library and pull my thesis off the shelf and read it.
The taxpayers paid for the collection, processing, and analysis of the GISS. University of Alabama - Huntsville has conducted independent research that contradicts the NASA GISS results. Not to worry, the scientific method, the standard for scientific research, provides that scientists must make available their data and code that support their results. UAH's data and code are available.
One wonders why NASA is dithering. I think maybe another house of cards is about to tumble.
