PARTY POOPERS regarding the 4th of July Fireworks. Been going for a long time. Plan ahead, take a GPS if you need one, get there early, stay out of the cluster of boats and leave after the chaos has cleared. Its alot better than driving and parking IMO.

I fully agree with DB on this. I have been going for 23 years by water and have never had an incident. I take a 19 ft Bowrider and feel fine. If you are not comfortable with all the cluster of boats leaving at the same time, find a slough and pull into it, have a picnic snack on board and enjoy it while all the crowd clears.

Yes, there is always some idiot in a 10 ft aluminum john boat with no lights going against the traffic, but just pay attention and have someone else (I recommend only 1 person, not the entire boat) watching boats coming up behind you and telling you which side.

Be careful and have a good time.

I thought that was you - at first I thought someone was pretending to be the Statue of Liberty. The reflections were splendid, they remind us how blessed we are to live in this country.

Thanks for the thread DroughtBuster. I've been around for 36 years and love the fireworks show. By boat or land.

Even I am not that crazy! And since the strongest thing I drink is a Fanta Orange soda, I am never drunk enough to do that either!

Besides, the fourth is the one night I will NOT ride around without lights on my jonboat.
