appears there is NO ceiling--kicking the can down the road into oblivion--US is and has been for a long  time bankrupt due to irresponsible spending to swoon votes and enhance Congress members wealth. debt rating not being lowered by moody's & S &  P is irresponsible. something must be done--by the way what comes after trillion ? that wasnt covered in my MBA classes

Like most things in DC, what it's called and what it is are two completely different things, often polar opposites.  Think Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (or Obamadon'tcare as my son calls it)...think Inflation Reduction Act.....think American Recovery and Investment Act.  Bill names, like the debt ceiling, are pure gaslighting of the American people.

It should be called the Debt Elevator.......every time we reach the floor someone pushes a button for the next floor above.  The Uniparty at their very worst....it's not about whether to up it, it's a question of how much so we can kick the debt can down the road for the next guy.  Sadly, our children, grandchildren and so on are going to pay the price in terms of lower economic activitity, significantly higher taxes and more inflation.  But you know what, Gen Z, X, etc. voted for this nonsense so I will only feel sorry for those that didn't.

Using official Treasury figures from the fiscal year, the national debt increased by $7 trillion during Trump's presidency.

Good Lord Goofy, you are so freaking boring with your one track TDS mind that it's pathological.  You really do need help.....not tongue in cheek....I really mean it.  He lives rent free in your mind and dominates every aspect of your life.  That is no way to live.
