and Democrats can agree that the defeat of convicted felon Senator Stevens is a positive sign for our country that the good people of Alaska said enough is enough. It doesn't matter the party==sleaze is non partisan.

So what are your thouhts on William Jefferson? You remember him, the one with the 'cold cash'. The 90K in his freezer that he was so worried about that he commandeered emergency vehicles during the Katraina flood to go and retrieve it. Where is your outrage and cries for his head?

I think we're talking about sleaze and there is sleaze on both sides of the aisle. If I read these posts, I would think the posters think that Stevens should be given a pass, because some Dems are sleazy also. That's not what you meant, is it?
I don't think we are talking about people that we just disagree with, but elected officials that have used their positions as public officials for personal gain. As a former Fed, I can tell you that career people who take anything for personal gain --- even lunch or dinner that exceeds the annual limit (it's like $20) gets hammared (usually fired) and rightfully so. It has to do with public perception -- so in my mind, any elected official who takes for personal gain ought to lose his job -- no matter what his political persuasion.

Did I say anything about giving him a pass? You libs like to bring up Republican felons so, I just thought I would remind you that the Dems certainly have their share and, it seems the only difference is, the sleazy Dems continue to get elected.

I am not surprised to see Swimmer try and change the subject. Young man, Jefferson has not been tried yet. In our great country, one is innocent until proven quilty. Republicans like to convict sleazy Democrats without a fair and unbiased trial.
The details from my sources indicate that the $90,000 cold cash that Jefferson had in his freezer was actually prudent investing. His financial advisor suggested at the time that as a prudent investor he should sell stock and hold cash. I bet Waterman wishes he had the same advisor.
If Jefferson is convicted, let us hope that he never serves the people again. You and your fellow Right Wingers need to realize that those of us who are forward thinking have no use for polticial crooks.
What is surprising is that over 130,000 Alsakan's did vote to return that Repubican Felon to office.

What is your point? You may not like Barney and his politics or lifestyle, but what crime has he been convicted of? I don't approve of everything he does but that is quite different than a convicted felon whether a Republican or Democrat.

Well it seems that the 90K would have been better if put in the market since when it came out of his freezer it was STILL marked just as the FBI had marked it before giving it to him. Now had he taken it to a broker,.......

Inexplicable. A lot of residents of DC remember a time when Barry was all about jobs programs (just ignore that it just about bankrupted the city) Even after the latest stories of his drug use, there are a lot of citizens of DC that think he walks on water. Maybe they should have made Obama fix DC before they let him be President.
