One of my favorite parts of any Independence Day at the lake is watching all of the boats going home after the big fireworks show. A steady stream of red running lights heading for home and fighting the waves, plus one green light fool going against the flow. My father stopped counting at 125, and considering that we are only about two miles from Little Steel Bridge(or whatever we should call it now)that is an impressive number.

It was wild I would say there were 1500 maybe 2000 boats. We held out at the power lines just shy of the big water. I though we would be alone that far away, boy was I wrong. The problem I had was the powerful wake of all the boats going out at the same time about flipped us. We ran for cover best we could behind some ones sea wall. till it calmed down the made a run for Goat Island to stay on the boat over night.

I was so mad to wake up at 5AM to the the sound of at least 3 big dogs some campers had on the island. I wanted to say something to them but I bit my lip. I though every one knows not to take dogs to Goat Island!

Other than the wake problem It was fun. I got the entire show on tape and will be working on a new video soon.

It was a "BLAST"

Did anyone notice the never ending tail light parade on the bridge?
