we had a good time at the alex city boat ramp. not very many people there..I hope next time more people will join us .. we had one of our hobo members drive down from B'ham just for the clean up..thanks maverick for the help....

So, was over at the small island off the tip of goat island today. not sure if everyone knows about this new invention. it is called a trash bag. I have never seen so much trash in my life. I cannot believe that people cannot take a bag with them and pick up as theydrink, eat, etc.. there was bacon packages, cans, GLASS (Stupid), and who knows what else.
these people need to be fined for such abuse of property. If the H2O patrol is monitoring this, it might be a good task for the volunteer (floatillas?). I think if we approach campers and let them know we know who they are and when they camp out, they might start cleaning up a little better.

i agree...i can put up with alot of things. but, not picking up after your own self is pure lasyness and just plane rude...

Hope you had a good turn out. Sorry we couldn't be there, however every time we come to the lake we clean up trash on our property and our neighbors. There should be a fine for littering
When we first bought the lot we took 11 huge black trash bags off the lake front. We are always amazed at the amout of glass bottles we find in the sand.
Next we started removing all of the trees that were on our lake front. We were told it was the popular place to drop off trees that ended up on someone elses lake front.
We will be on the lake fulltime in 3 to 4 years.

unfortunately we didnt have very many at alex city ramp. but, we got alot of trash picked up. i had three boat loads that i transported . plus the trash that was picked up around the ramp itself.
hopefully next time we will have a better turnout...my wife and i had a good time and met some really good people too. we are looking foward to doing it again.
