Subject:   Why doesn't Obama's dog fly with them?
Date:   9/18/2011 10:56:50 AM

IN THE MUSLIM RELIGION, DOGS ARE UNCLEAN AND NOT ALLOWED TO TRAVEL IN THE SAME VEHICLE AS THE MUSLIM.

Bo has never traveled in the same means of transportation with the First Family.

WAKE UP AMERICA!!!!   REMEMBER ALL THE OTHER PRESIDENTS WITH THEIR DOGS COMING OFF THE PLANE WITH THEM???  NOT THE OBAMA'S...

Bo's vacation

I guess since they had to swallow their pride and use the Gulfstream there just wasn't enough room for the dog and one other person.

Did you know the Pres. flew BO, the dog, in on a separate smaller jet to Maine for their vacation????Wonder if that sets well with all the unemployed, hurting, US citizens who can't afford food, but we can pay for this. The above is true. I Google "Bo the dog flying to Maine " and got 76,700 references verifying this. One of them follows:

Michelle Malkin: Just Plane Crazy: Obama's Dog Flies to Vacation on Separate Jet

Doug Powers: The Obama's arrived at their vacation spot in Maine , and the local paper, the Morning Sentinel, described the scene:

The president was the first to walk onto the tarmac, dressed casually in a pale blue Oxford shirt and khakis. A few    minutes later, the first lady, dressed in black caprice, a tank-top and sandals, walked onto the runway. Shortly afterward, Malia and Sasha joined their parents. Baldacci and his wife, Karen, presented the family with gift bags full of Maine-made goodies, including baskets made by the Passamaquoddy Tribe, popcorn from Little Lad’s Bakery in East Corinth,  iconic L.L. Bean bags, University of Maine ice hockey hats, and an assortment of other Maine foods and books.

Karen Baldacci said the bags for Malia and Sasha contained one loon toy and one chickadee toy that sound their natural calls. Arriving in a small jet before the Obama's was the first dog, Bo, a Portuguese water dog given as a present by the late U.S. Sen. Ted Kennedy, D-Mass.; and the presidents€™s personal aide Reggie Love, who chatted with B

Your conspriacy theory is sick. First, it is old as Balducci's tem ended in Jan 2011. Here is a summary of the August 2011 trip to Cape Cod: "But the President was not alone on Air Force One on the flight to Cape Cod, and on the Marine One flight to the Vineyard. Bo, the First Dog, traveled with the President and will enjoy the 28 acres of the Blue Heron Farm which the Obama’s have rented for 10 days."

Maybe the theory is off base, maybe not. Some Jews keep kosher, others not, while some observe on the holy days. Likely the same with muslims. One certainty is if the name Palin, Bachman, or most any Republican's was subbed for the zerO, it would be the never ending story from you, complete with quotes from People and Vanity Fair, cell phone photos, MSNBC video featuring Tingles and Butch, links to Salon and various Media Matters "truth" sniffing sites.

I think some people have way too much time on their hands and keep trying to come up with theories that will somehow ultimately prove Obama is a Muslim. Instead of trying to brew up a controversy, these people should find a charity or a hospital or a church which would be a much better way to spend their time. And it would help the country that they profess to be so concerned about.

How do you know that they don't??

Those same folks that are developing these theories would likely have both more time and money available to help the less fortunate had the "independents" properly vetted the candidate prior to casting their vote against W., a man not even in the 2008 race.

Don't tell me you are getting concerned that the Messiah might not actually get re-immaculated are you?  Lose a few votes over thinking he is a Muslim...lose a few million votes over Fast and Furious, Solyndra, etc........lose a few tens of millions of votes over his world class incompetence over the economy and it all starts to add up doesn't it?

Fact is for once in my lifetime I can say that whatever it takes, we need to make Oblamer a one-term President.  We simply cannot survive another four years of this incompetent boob and his incompetent staff.  Starting to see some inside peaks into the dysfuntional economic team.....well duh!  The only amazing thing to me is that some of them, not many, but some of them actually had the temerity to dissent against his socialistic tendencies.  Truly a miracle.......

Then they wouldn't have time to sit around making this stuff up. It's just ridiculous -- and I have to say, that I find it curious that reasonably intelligent people even bother with it. Can you explain that to me?

The dog flying to vacation on a different plane story was widely reported and photographed last summer. I am surprised more reasonably intelligent people have not cried out and held this up as another example of this administration squandering taxpayer dollars. I am sure the dog has an important role in that family, but shifting the care costs to American taxpayers is utterly reprehensible, regardless of religous affiliation. By the way, to name just a few, UW of LeeCo, ASTA, Toys for Tots, holiday dinners through the Salvation Army and CMN are direct and continuing beneficiaries of my time and treasure. In addition, my bride spent the last 3 months working along with Mrs C on her tornado relief project, yet, she still has time to raise similar questions, and express disgust with the findings of the actions of the current administration. But, that is probably an outlier, as her intelligence is measurably higher than the norm.

Hound, it turns out the problem was with the original story and the photographs taken by the local newspaper that later printed a retraction. Regardless of whether the dog and handler flew alone or whether it was packed with staffers, it sickens me that the American taxpayer has to pay $102,000 per year for this guy. If Oblamer wants to have a full time handler for a dog that is his decision but he should pay for it himself. Close your eyes and imagine Bush having done this. You would be up in arms and rightly so. Either way it is just another nail in the Oblamer political coffin as it demonstrates what an elitist he is and one of the 200 reasons why he is foundering in the polls. If this mistake by a local newsrag costs Oblamer some votes I am all for it. We have to get rid of this guy.

My reply to your post had nothing to do with the dog story.  I simply asked how you concluded that "these people" have too much time on their hands and should be spending it on charitable causes.  Maybe I could better understand if you explained who "these people" are...water_watcher, forum members in general, media reporters or who??  As barneget has pointed out, there are those who follow the news and also do good works.

Perhaps, like Obama's MIL, he pays for the dog to travel. Maybe that's why the dog traveled separately. I know I will likely not convince you and others about this, but accountants in the government really do watch over this stuff, as well as the lawyers. They do pay attention to this stuff, because they know that elements of the public are watching.

refers to certain members of society who like to make this stuff up and put it out there on the web. I wasn't referring to anyone here, since I believe that WW is just reporting something he read, not that he made it up. But, I am surprised that reasonably intelligent people here on this forum, jump on this kind of "junk" news, that 99% of the time has no basis in truth and they know it. I will say that I am disturbed by the anti-Muslim sentiment that so many feel so free to express. It's like saying that because that nut-job in Florida that arranges protests at soldier's funerals is representative of all Christians everywhere. Or that because Timothy McVie was a former soldier that all soldiers are likely to commit acts of domestic terrorism. In my view, there is enough to be concerned with about our country and the direction where we are heading, and the total lack of leadership in either party, than making time to make stuff up and put it out there on the web, or to waste time pondering if it might be true.

Well, I'm certainly grateful to you and your wife for spending so much time to help the community. It's very admirable. And if you spend time finding facts and reporting them, well, that is admirable too. I guess I just think better of intelligent people that they would not spend their time on "junk" news, that doesn't matter in the least.

That is likely the case. Interesting though that you point out that they, the government,do things because the public is watching. The true measure of integrity is what you do when there is no one to see you. In two simple sentences, you and I, who would have thought, defined the great divide between the government we have, and the government desired by the people.

The Florida pastor planned a Koran burning, the Westboro Baptist group protesting soldiers funerals is from Kansas, and the zerO's DHS secrerary, affectionately or not known as Big Sis, is the person responsible for identifying returning servicemen, along with Christian white male gun owning conservatives, as "likely terrorists" in February 2009. McVeigh was a professed atheist. His father and sister identified themselves as Christian.

I don't think so. My point is exactly correct in that the controversy about the dog began as a result of a mistaken news article, something you apparently did not know or chose to ignore. And the original post included the statement about the overpaid dog handler. It's obvious to me that my post is way more on target than yours is about disparaging people that you don't know with statements that you have no basis in fact to make. That is hijacking a thread rather than responding to the merits or lack thereof. Ad homimum attacks are the weakest form of argument and you could have come across way more credible by avoiding them. But I do agree that you know how I feel about Oblamer. :-)

If the dog handler was overpaid, the Obama's were paying for it. Honestly, MM, do you ever not hold forth? You spend more time justifying yourself and patting yourself on the back than anyone I've seen in a long time. Why does it not surprise me that you don't consider your post to be a hijack of the thread?

I never said that McVie was a Christian. I'm well aware that he considered himself an atheist. And I'm aware of Nepolitano's ridiculous statement. Leave it to you to defend that nutcase in Florida. You'd probably defend McVie too.

Where, in the clarification, was a defense of anyone? Just tried to untangle your post. Took me a minute because I had to think upside down and backwards, and that doesn't come naturally. Since you brought it up, I support the Florida pastors right to burn any book he desires, yet will fight his attempt to ban one. I support Westboros right to assemble peacefully, and vigorously support the Patriot Guard Riders who block their access to the dead soldiers grieving families. I support the war on terror and stand in opposition to surrendering domestic freedoms. Nuff said.

Uh, the news reports said the dog handler is paid for with the White House budget which is in fact the case. Do you ever do any research or do you just say whatever you want to be true regardless of the facts?!?!? Go to the link below and search for Mr. Reginald Love and you will see that you and I (at least I do since I pay taxes) and the other 50% of Americans that pay federal taxes do in fact pay his ridiculously high salary! Imagine, being paid $100 grand to babysit a stupid dog and clean up its poop from the White House lawn for the imperial Oblamer. Good work if you can get it.......unfortunately for 20% of Americans under the Messiah you can't find good work. Hound, the fact that you continue to defend this man-child pretender in chief is almost getting pathetic. He is an abject failure that Independents are abandoning in droves......with you as the notable exception......

Original post dealt with a Kenyan Muslim. WTH is a muslim american? Is it like a Methodist American but different? Or more like a lesbian American? Or maybe along the lines of the halfrican American in the white house? Why do you feel the need to propagate yet another artificial division among Americans, regardless of faith, national origin, skin color, economic status, or sexual identity. At this pace, page 1 of the 2020 census will be 4 pages long. And Mr Hodga nailed my thinking with his reply. Nuff said

Its because she is like many on the left. They see everyone as a hyphenated American belonging to one class or another either requiring special accommodations (ie, prayer rugs, prayer time, special foods, etc.) or requiring special punishment (ie, a white males). It is really an attempt to get you to say something so she can hold onto her preconceived belief that you are a homophobic, anti-Muslim, evangelical white racist because you oppose the Messiah. When you run out of intellectual arguments to support a failed President that you voted for it makes you feel better to demonize the opposition. Better that than to admit actually having made an error in the voting booth. Like you I could care less about a person's gender, sexual orientation, race or religious affiliation. I care about the content of their character and what they believe is best for America. If they are on the right side of the issues they are OK with me regardless of who they are. And if they are wrong (i.e., liberal or progressive) they are not OK with me regardless of who they are.

Because that is his job. He is Bo's handler. Are you saying he watches the dog part of the day and then spends the rest of the day advising the President on economic, national defense or foreign affairs?!?!?!? Oh wait a second, that might actually explain the incompetence of the administration. Their dog handler is also a senior advisor. I can walk the dog, clean up Bo's little messes and also advise Obama on the proper stance toward Palestinian statehood and how to resolve the security issues in Gaza......that would explain a lot. Pretty silly idea, isn't it?

Even in Washington, the government would not pay a dog handler $100K. Now they might contract it out and pay a contractor for $100k. I suspect that Mr. Love has other duties.

is Obama's personal assistant. This is what the personal assistant does: A body man is, in U.S. political jargon, a personal assistant to a politician or political candidate. A body man accompanies the politician or candidate virtually everywhere, often arranging lodging, transportation or meals, and providing companionship, snacks, a cell phone, and any other necessary assistance. GWB had 2 during his administration: Blake Gotteson 2000-2006; and Jared Weinstein 2006-2009
