Yes, we are advised that Billary's first grandchild is due any day now.  Why the prepare to hurl?  Because it will be greeted like one of the royal births in the UK and the media will go wall to wall with picture after picture of Grandma holding the baby.  Women across the country will begin lactating and Billary's approval numbers will no longer be sliding but she will get a bounce.......until she starts to campaign anyway.  I will be carrying air sick bags in my briefcase just in case. Be forewarned and be prepared......this baby will be a campaign prop and I can already hear Billary waxing eloquent about being a grandparent and needing to save the future for her adorable little grand baby. Anyone wanna bet me on this?  And please don't give me the drivel about her maybe deciding not to run because she wants to spend more time with her grandchild.  She will run if she thinks she can win and would throw daughter and grandchild under the bus if it meant winning.

Billary is nothing more than a female omama.

There is no doubt in my mind that she will run.  And you are right, she probably will talk about saving the world for future generations.  It doesn't appear that anyone doubts she will be the democratic nominee.

I don't really think that this baby will necesarily get more media attention than Jenna Bush's baby.  There have been plenty of photo- ops of her with GWB and Laura Bush.  I'm not sure that babies make much of a difference in the political landscape, with all the other issues that will shape the politcal debate.

And you always have the option of not reading the stories or looking at the pictures.....

Maybe I wasn't paying attention but I don't even recall the Bush grandchild. But I can guarantee you this baby is going to get way more press attention and it will be fawning. I mean heck, the kid isn't even here yet and they are covering it.  But you are right, I will do whatever I can to avoid it if at all possible. Apparently it worked for the Bush's because I didn't even know they had one.

Hillary will be the nominee unless a far left challenger with a modicum of political skills grasps it away from her. It could happen again.  And if she is the nominee she will be hard to beat.  Too many will vote for her because of her gender. We have a black president so it's time to check the box for a woman. We saw how well that criteria is working out.

I don't think that people will vote for her because she is woman.  I think that the world has become too scary for the voters to just elect someone for their gender.   I don't think she is unbeatable depending on who becomes the Republican nominee.  People are ready for a "leader". The thing that worries me is that the Republicans will trot out an retread who has already been rejected.  We're coming off two wars, and another longterm one is on the horizon - voters need someone that will lead and bring back the confidence that we can defeat these threats, and fix the economy.

I don't know that they are covering the baby as they are covering Bill Clinton who is talking about the baby.

I think that some people will vote for her because she is a woman just like some people voted for Obama because he was half black.  Just watch "Watters World" on Fox when they go out and interview folks in Times Square and other such venues.  The abject ignorance is appalling and a great indicator that, from that ignorance, they will become enthralled by the fact that a woman is running.  That may be the ONLY thing they know about the candidates and thus will vote accordingly.

But I am not as confident as you, especially given 2012.  As for what the GOP does it's anyone's guess but the last few cycles likewise doesn't lend confidence. Here's hoping.

I sleep so well knowing that my vote for Billary will cancel out yours.

Likewise I sleep well knowing mine will cancel yours and thank God you live in a state where your vote for Billary doesn't mean squat because she is not getting our electoral college votes.  Enjoy that reality.

As a woman, I woud like to see a woman President at some point; however, it has to be the right woman for the job.   I have never agreed with Hilary's politics and I'm tired of Bill Clinton. Although they both may have rehabilitated their image at some extent in some groups, I remember all too clearly the last year of the Clinton presidency and the aftermath.  I was unimpressed with Hilary as the SecState (just as I am horrifed by Kerry as the Secstate).   But you are right - some voters will look only at her being a woman and that will be enough for them.  We can only hope that those are the minority voters.

At times I have thought certain she would run, and at others times the oppisite.  Even at times when I think she wont run I have felt certain that she is priming the pump for Chelsea to step in and swoop up the momentum and run with it.  It actually scares me more than her running.  Having been raised in the bubble that is a 1st kids life the opposition research on her will be fruitless for the most part.  The flip side is that the same bubble has insulated her from any real world experience on which to draw conclusions and form meaningful opinions about how life is for the "99%".

CHILLDABEAST 2020!  That scares the hell out of me.  If the stars align it could even be CHILLDABEAST 2016.  It might be unbeatable.

about that one.  More likely she would decide to run for her mother's old Senate seat, if she were to enter into politics.

No hound I don't stay awake nights worrying about anything, especially politics.  I will point out however that it is not her "mothers old Senate seat".  That seat, as all congressinal seats, belong to the people of the respective districts/states.  The biggiest problem with politics today is the sense of entitlement of those that hold them.  They start to think like they do belong to them and not the people.

I can't remember the details but remember Joe Biden being upset when he had to give his up to be VP and couldn't pass his down to his son like he planned.  He wanted to change election laws governing special elections because JR. was deployed with a National Guard unit and couldn't run or couldn't meet eligabillity requirements for some reason.  As I stated, I don't remember the details just the contempt ol Joe showed for the 'rules' when they didn't comply with his wishes.

If you are like me it is our prostrate that is keeping us up at night.

I think some politians stay so long, they do believe it is "their" job.  This is why I am very much in favor of term limits.

I don't know if Hilary feels that way, since she wasn't there that long, but what I meant to say is "the Senate seat previously held by Hilary"

As far as the prostrate issue, I can't comment since I don't have one.  :-)

I have some misgivings about term limits but they do have some appeal.  Would love to get back to the concept of citizen legislator but my biggest fear is too much power coming from knowledge in the staff.  That's where most of the work is done already and it might get even worse if you constantly have neophyte legislators.  But that is about my only concern about them.

As for the prostrate you will just have to ask your spouse.  And actually I don't have that problem but lots of men do, especially as they get older.  Makes for lots of good jokes, all starting with hitting age 50 when your doctor informs you that he or she needs to begin checking said prostrate.  Any man reading this now is wincing.

Funny that comes up now. I just had my annual humiliation yesterday

Fortunately he didn't phone my wife and tell her it was time to make final arrangements.  :-)
