Hey, could you work it out so that when we post, we know how many posts people have made? I think this way, we could know who are the major contributors, who are the lurkers coming out, who are the trolls to make trouble.
All other forums I am on, you know how many posts a contributor has made. And everytime one posts, that number changes.
Even though I see new names, since I am rather new (since the Fall), I would like to know if some posters are established (respectible in the fact they have been around) or are they new like me. Some of the names are new to me, but they may have more years on the forum that I have. I would like to know that.
OK? Forum Manager? Can you do that?

Sure get right on it.
Anything else you would like like spell check, edit posts after posting or a thesaurus?
How about ability to change font colors, use italics and bold, post pictures, smilie faces etc.

Hey Maverick, While you are at it how about moving the latest post made to the top of the page even when it is part of an existing thread. Also allow us to go back and correct previous post we have made especially when we mispell Dock.

... he DOES NOT monitor the forum unless someone compains to him about a post, then he will take it down. He also doesn't refferee fights....lol. He will however block a repeat offenders IP address.
I guess you would call me a 'lurker', cuz I stay away for months, then pop back in when time allows. IF there is anything of interest going on I may or may not put my two cents into the debate. For the most part it just bores me, but I have been coming here since back in the 90's. I cant even remember what year, but I am thinking maybe 97-98. How many times have I posted... thousands I'm sure. But who is counting...lol

I am probably stating the obvious here but you can click the "Search" link and search on various subjects like:
"Search by User name:"
"Free word search:"
This will pull up all posts by that user and let you see how many times they have posted and when.
By the way . . . I was looking forward to a strange and confusing post by DwightSchrute this morning (who by the way has only posted 3 times according to the search) but see he must have not been hittin the sauce last night.

Yes, I guess I'll use that option. Normally the page is laid out with lots of options - like correcting or modifying a post, the person's # of posts visible on the page (not in a search - although there is that option on other posts), and yes, if Forum Manager wasn't being sarcastic- there are the options of color, font, size, but not Thesaurus (that is something we should be doing...not the manager - therefore, thinking FM was sarcastic.)
But maybe the forum does need updating. I don't want to put him out. But is he paid to monitor? Is this his job? Or is it freelance without money on his own time?
Are you paid Mr. Forum Manager? Or just the moderator on your own?

Bruce runs the US Lakes websites for all US Lakes somewhere out of Tennessee, do not remember the city.
The way he makes money is through advertisers, business listings, vacation and real estate listings, etc.
He does not monitor the forums, except when he receives a complaint regarding inappropriate posts, etc.
Everything else on the site is FREE. So do not think the forum is his top priority as he would have to change all forums across his entire web server farm just to accommodate our requests and he probably sees the forums as just an added nicety.
You should email him, he is a very nice guy. Might take 2 or 3 days for him to get back to you, but he will reply I am sure.

So, he IS the Webmaster, too?
I was thinking about the advertising was his bread and butter. My husband and I advertise our condo from April - October on here. So, I am a paid contributor...so maybe my comments would be worthy of at least being looked at.
I am not asking for big changes, but being able to correct a mistake right after posting would be nice.

Jaw, There are some posters using various aliases or handles. At one time there were several individual posters that had up to six different aliases. Only the true Forum Manager knows for sure. He did reveat this to be the case several years ago, but he would and will not reveal the identity of the deceptors. The pathethic thing is they would and possibly still are using their various aliases to reinforce their point of view or argument. Just another method of deception.
