I have read and heard 1"-3"+ rainfall totals in our region over the last couple of days, from our area (Central Al.) to the North Ga. area. That's a pretty wide spread area that our water system runs through. All things considered, what would the effect be on our current water conditions. Don't mean to be vague, but not real sure how to ask this question. I got plenty of rain in Prattville last night, but our pond did not come up. Surely, if anything it would slow things down a bit????

Not really CAT. The ground is so dry it is soaking it up faster than it can run off. All the grass and plants are thirsty!! Besides the rain hit in such a a spotty manner again. Folks very close to each other are reporting as much as a 2 inch variance. I can watch by boat ramp and guage run off by how much rain is washing down it. So far I have seen none. I had one storm roll thruogh at about 3:30 this morning that might have caused a little, but it only lasted 30 minutes or so.

If 2 inches of rain fell in your yard, then 2 inches fell in your lake. If there was run-off, which I'm sure there was, then that's a bonus. Hence, the same goes for all bodies of water in the region that had rainfall.

If 2" frll in only the northern end of the lake, what would that equal for the entire lake region. Right now my section is in the middle of a downpour but if the entire lake is not getting it then the rise is less noticeable.

Rise or not, we all should be happy that it is raining. I can not remember the last time that it rained for days in a row. I just looked at the weather forcast and seems that there is a good chance everyday this week, until late Friday. That is a blessing. But even with the rain fall, that just means that the powers that be at APCo can release more of the water.

Keep an eye on this website. As of a couple of hours ago, most areas north of the lake have accumulated less than 1" over 24 hours. More is coming though.
There has been plenty of rain south and west of Montgomery, so you would think they could close the gates since the Alabama River shouldn't need any extra water this week to float barges.

Very interesting to see the total rain precipitation over the entire Tallapoosa River Basin in the past 24 hours in such a simple easy to read map.

Seems to be an irregular update. It had a 7 am to 7am map. Then a 9am to 9am, but no updates since. I'd love to see what the last 5 hours have done.
