Does anyone have any information, or especially, CONNECTIONS - someone we can contact - to reserve a place to have a friend's wedding ceremony on the lake, preferably outdoors?

I have a friend who went through bureaucratic heck (and lots of $) getting his son and fiance - a Philippine woman - LEGALLY into this country. He'd like to have a nice, outdoors ceremony near Children's Harbor or Koliga.

They are looking for a outdoor place, instead of the sterility of a justice-of-the-peace setting at a courthouse. Their wedding date is coming up REALLY SOON (September 19, I believe).

Reply here, or contact me personally at (256) 404-1330.

I told my friend I could pull some strings.
Anybody got some stings for sale?

Thanks for any help you can offer.
Heather (NC II) (and Ray, her hubby).

Call Chuck's Marina if you can't get anything over where you asked. 256-825-6871 - ask for Jane or Greg.

This may be illegal but... Depending on how many guests you have, why not head out to one of the islands for the ceremony? There are some nice beaches close to Kowliga. Load up a pontoon boat and set up a small tent. Beats a courthouse.

You are welcome to use our place but we are on the other side of Anchor Bay.

Have you tried Children's Harbor or Church in the Pines to see if they are available. A nice wedding just held on the lawn of CH last weekend. It's not cheap to use these facilities, but you didn't mention whether that was issue. Someone also used the Amphitheatre earlier this summer. Call Russell Lands and they can tell you if it's an option

Just reading this thread. I will call tomorrow. Got some options you should check out. I've done this several times around that area last few years.

I guess StillWaters is too far? Their Church of the Living Waters is beautiful - outdoors, on the water, in the trees with a roof but no walls. You can call them at 256 825-2990.

Thank you every one for you help and suggestions.

There is a little white church out on a point near Willow Point and across the bay area from Paradise Point. Maybe a little further north than you like, but they do lease out this building for these types of events. I enjoy boating past it on the weekends and think it would be an awesome place to have these types of events. Don't know any contact info, but maybe someone else could direct you if you are interested.
