Yesterday, at Aquapalooza I saw a Patrol boat approach a pontoon boat with 12-15 people on it.  As two guys attempt to pull off a potential Chicago exit,  a second Patrol boat pulled along the other side of the pontoon.  Several Marine Police boarded the pontoon boat and it was escorted to the ramp at the bridge with officers driving and guarding the boat.

When I attempted to follow,  I encountered a pontoon in distress.  The occupants said that "high water" had caused their I/O to fail.   I told the guy to try to start it and he did to no avail.  I suggested that he re-attach the kill switch at which point every thing worked fine.   But I never got to see what happened to the commandeered pontoon boat.  Does anyone know?

I'm guessing from your description that the patrol decided that no one aboard was fit to drive.

If you  are in a crowd of people that the cops are talking to  you do a moonwalk kind of movement either sideways or backward.  Looking forward all the time.   I suspect it was perfected during prohibition in the speakeasys of Chicago.

In this case the guys were heading for an open gate and into the lake.  Then probably under the boat.
