Saw several boats with "cathouse" on them at the rock Sunday. Was hoping to meet this Cat but was no where to be found.

He'll be in the little row-boat with the trolling motor, his big boat is banned.

Please tell me then how the 37' boat with the flames was out at the rock on Sunday....and the Livin' Loud...

How do they determine what was grandfathered?

The way this reads Cat can get a permit for "one" lake only or am I missing something? I'm sure with the business he is in he travels to several lakes to drum up customers, guess he should have built a boat for each of those lakes huh?

I was considering coming to the lake Sunday, but did not. I will possibly visit this weekend. Most of my customers have stickers on the stern that read www.cathouseperformancemarine.com . My boat is white with purple and yellow. It is also shorter than 30'6" and no longer capable of over 60.

Is there a law on the books that says the horsepower rating on a boat must not be exceeded? So say a boat over 27 ft rated for a Max HP at 330 and someone has a SC 502 (600-700hp) stuffed in it changes the props and can then exceed the 60 mph mark would that be legal?
Cat, did you get grandfathered to lake Martin?

No need to grandfather, he does not fall under the "Floating Trailer House" rule...

Maybe it can be classified as a residence boat according to Alabama Law... it has to be rated to do > 60 which is might not be rated for, and if it is not rated for that, and I know it is docked on Lake Martin, then it is a grandfathered boat.

It would do over 60 if he took the govenors off.

But is it "RATED" that is the key word ... I believe... could be wrong... wouldn't be the first time.
