I am exploring the possibility of offering Boston butts and/or slabs of ribs on the water at Lake Martin. I'm trying to see if there is a demand for this. Please respond and let me know what you think. Thanks.

if you team up with the guy on peanut point or do something like that at goat island and have boiled peanuts and ribs and rib sandwiches. also a beer cave would be good. you might want to start a beer club. if people could buy beer from you on say any day of the week but sunday and could pick it up any day including sunday, you could probably make it.

I assume cooked? I might buy on occasion, although that is fun to let smoke all day to enjoy when we get off the water. even hanging around the house the smell is great.

I enjoy smoking them myself when I have time off, so it wouldn't be something I would purchase. I'm sure you could get some takers, but I doubt there is much money making opportunity in doing such.

that makes a difference ... yes I think that would work on the water. I thought you were selling whole butts. As a sandwich for lunch I think would work. We would buy them. Would you sell off a boat like at the rock?

people would have to count on you being there regularly and at specific place or places so they can plan on it. You would still get impluse buys, but i think your business would grow if people knew you were there from 11-3 at least on weekends and more during the peak season.

I think you could sell quite a few BBQ sandwiches on a busy day and I think that would be more profitable than ribs. If they are good, you will get people to come back. Be sure to check local regulations and laws on food sales so that you don't get shut down or heavily fined. If I remember correctly, the burger boat had a hard time making the health department happy and trying to do such was too costly for them to continue.

Peanut Point .... looks alot like deliverance... Know the movie .. you can only get thru in the summer .. and maybe it's 3 feet.. scary..lots of people cook/smoke butts/ribs on lake..I sometimes want something I can pick up and eat on boat as I cruise.
