are so insensed by the DRAFT, LEAKED opinion that Questions the LEGAL BASIS for the Roe v. Wade decision that they now despise the Constitution that has been the basis for our government for the last 200+ years.  At the same time, they want to disband the Supreme Court because it is (according to them) stacked with Conservatives.  Some are calling the Constitution "weak" (although it managed to serve our country thru 2 world wars, the depression, and in times of prosperity and decline.

God help this country if we don't get some balance from the mid-term elections.  People have lost their minds.  Thanks to Democrats, the country and the world are in a major kabal.  Apparently there is no room for debate anymore, no room to question on an intellectual basis, no room for discussion lest we decide that the entire basis of our country is no longer serving (democrats) interest.  This is not to say that Republicans always have the right answers (one only need to look at Iraq) to know that is true.  But I really think there was a benefit when our country was served with debate across the aisle and what went on behind closed doors at the Supreme Court was sacred.

Violating the norms of decent society has been a feature of the Democrat party for some time.  But what has taken hold is the fear of being primaried by a complete left wing nut socialist so the leadership has to go along to remain in power.  As I pointed out the irony of their protests is the reality that Roe v Wade was enacted by the votes of five, old white men.  Prior to then the issue was decided by elected officials on a state by state basis.  This decision simply returns to those norms.  It does not make abortion illegal.  Abortion restrictions will be decided by who the people of a state vote into office.....the way it should be done.

What the leftists are really saying is that they only oppose SCOTUS when it doesn't do what it wants.  They perfected legislating from the bench by appointing activist judges.  They are protesting originalists for pushing back against activism and once again putting the onus on elected officials to do waht they were voted into office to do.  Frankly I think this is a losing issue for Democrats in the mid-terms and 2024.  People are far more concerned about inflation, their decimated retirement savings, the crisis at the border and other kitchen table issues.  And they are not going to believe the lies being told about what the ruling does nor the blame game on economic issues.  The govt media complex no longer controls the narrative.  Democrats on the far left that run the party right now are concerned about abortion and climate change....issues not in the forefront of the minds of the American people.

It is the aggressiveness and selfishness of power and greed… assisted by a culture of ignorance, apathy, and resignation.

My thinking is that those upset about this fall into one or both of the following camps: 1) True believers that believe the life of the child is up to the mother, some believing even after birth; and 2) partisans that see this as a way to gin up enthusiasm for the mid-terms and 2024.  Those in the latter camp are cynical and are lying through their teeth about the impact of this ruling.  But they want to gin up as much anger as they can to get their base motivated.  At least they are finally admitting that abortion laws actually impact women and not birthing persons.....whatever the heck that is.

There are TWO (Constitutional) reponses to the overturning of Roe V Wade (should it happen):

Number 1

Article the twelfth [Amendment X] - "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

IF the Supreme Court follows the Constitution and overturns Roe v Wade based on the 10th Amendment, then YOU vote for or against abortion in your state if or when it appears on a ballot.

If indeed 70% of citizens approve of abortion(a), then abortion will be codified at the state level (unless, of course the state already has an abortion law already on the books and its citizens are in agrrement with such).

Number 2

Article. V. - "The Congress, whenever two thirds of both Houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose Amendments to this Constitution, or, on the Application of the Legislatures of two thirds of the several States, shall call a Convention for proposing Amendments, which, in either Case, shall be valid to all Intents and Purposes, as Part of this Constitution, when ratified by the Legislatures of three fourths of the several States, or by Conventions in three fourths thereof, as the one or the other Mode of Ratification may be proposed by the Congress…"

If indeed 70% of citizens approve of abortion, then abortion can codified, at the federal level, by amending the Constitution.  This is not likely as YOUR us senators and congessmen generally don't pay any attention to you and your fellow constituents except to play to your emotions during election season. A Constitutional convention - not going to happen (yet).

As Ruth Bader Ginsberg stated with respect to the passage of Roe v Wade, The Court had “fashion(ed) a regime blanketing the subject, a set of rules that displaced virtually every state law then in force,” Ginsburg wrote forcefully in 1992 in the wake of Planned Parenthood v. Casey. She foresaw the revisitation of the constitutionally troubled Roe v Wade decision.

(a) ALL states have addressed abortion to some degree. If the 70% statistic is true, then abortion will not be banned in any state.

(This posting does not in any way represent my opinion of abortion.)

Please tell us Hound, are you no longer pro-choice?  Please tell us, do you actually think MTG and Madison Crenshaw or for that matter, Kevin McCarthy have any more interest in reasoned debate than AOC or Ilhan Omar?

Its not that they are too stupid - they just dont care what happens under a demonrat administration and literally accuse everyone else of what they are responsible for.

Keep hearing the recession word in both print and on the news - Damn that Trump, not even in office and running the inflation up, starting the recessions years after he was in office,  running up the cost of gas and well literally everything, supply chain shortages, food shortages, baby formula, WWIII and the majority of the covid deaths under Biden - all that rascally Trumps fault, evil companies and their greed, Putin etc etc etc etc etc etc - and Trump a 2nd time because well its Trump.  I am sure I missed a few of their anyone but Biden's fault for the results of their policies.

Even a majority of demonrats are starting to not buy the narrative - but you can count on the hard lined few that will never speak an ill word against their masters.
