I just hope enough people see this. The unemployment among blacks and the number of food stamp recipients are the most scary. As many have said, dems want to keep minorities down, they really don't want them to advance. It is their base and they just want to pass more entitlements. Very sad. Republicans want opportunities and equality for them. Unemployment among minorities always gets worse under dems. Yet they keep going to the polls and voting for who keeps them down because the dems scare them that the republicans want to take away their entitlements. Makes me sick.

I can't believe that you guys are politicizing this already. I think that is an insult to everyone who has lost their lives trying to get the SOB, and combating against the hatred that Osama exploited; and to those who risked their life to get the job done. This is not a political moment. Everyone knows that the economy is still in trouble and there is much work to be done in Washington. Funny, I haven't heard anyone here talking about the poor reaction Ryan is getting taking his budget proposal on the road. Politicize that.

Hound, you are again RIGHT! When it comes down to a decision between doing what is right for your country… right in the LONG RUN… versus deflecting pain in the SHORT RUN… hedonists choose the trough.

There is terrible pain to be sucked up NOW… or excruciating, debilitating pain to be had later. Not by us – but, by our children and grandchildren.

Ryan says, “take it now.” We Baby-Boomers see only dimly what will happen on down the road. While we will sit drooling on ourselves… if we are still alive… our children will find that WE did not have the courage to act when the opportunity was ripe. I hope that MY children and grandchildren will see my writings and know that I was ready to seize the opportunity.

Hound, you know I just hate calling out the forum nanny but you leave me no choice. The chairman made the take down a political event, starting with his "I, me, my speech" Sunday night. Were it anything but political, the pakis would have reported finding the dismembered body wearing a pigskin following an assault by unknowns with ties to mossad. Ryans plan, any plan, that has the potential to reintroduce some fiscal sanity to out of control government spending, will meet opposition on the road, as the entitled are always the most vocal, and the meetings are astroturfed with SEIU's purple people beaters. Just the facts ma'am.

Read my post above ... as much as I don't care who called the shots, as long as din lauden was taken out ... the events do seem to make sense that Obama could not and would not make the call. He lacks leadership in every other area, so I doubt this decision was any different.

Ryan's is not the only plan around. It is ONE approach. There are two other plans too. The good news is that there is plenty of basis for discussion and debate. As far as Obama's speech Sunday night -- HE did make the call. HE was the one that had to be convinced. HE is the President. I didn't see anything in his speech that implied that he was taking "credit" for political purposes. HE took responsibility for making the decision. HE invited GWB to share a moment at Ground Zero. I actually don't think GWB refused on political grounds. GWB seems to have his own reasons for wanting to keep a low profile in private life. That's his right. GWB seems to understand that this is not a political moment. It's too bad that members of his former staff don't see that. I don't see GWB beating his chest saying "see, my approach was right". I give the guy credit. Clinton would have been a different story.

Ryans plan, along with one forwarded by the RCP are the only plans published that make any attempt at spending control/ reduction. Ryans was passed by the house. The Senate is still working through their proposal, and the February budget forwarded by the administration grew spending. I think the entitled are able to make the most noise because the rest of us are at work.
